My girlfriend and I have dealt with this place several times, and every time we’ve left, we’ve felt taken advantage of. This last visit, we actually caught the owner in the act of trying to get over on us.

He talks very fast and throws out multiple options to confuse you, then suddenly offers a deal that’s higher than what was originally discussed. By that point, your head is spinning with so many numbers that you start to second-guess yourself — and he insists it’s a good deal while pushing you to move forward.

If you ask questions, he’ll answer them — but somehow, the price keeps going up. I caught on to what he was doing because it’s so ingrained in him; he’s been doing it so long that it comes naturally. When I confronted him, he stood firm and wouldn’t make it right. My girlfriend and I told him that if he didn’t fix it, we’d never come back — and he was fine with that. He just kept talking about how great he is.

We walked out and will never return.

Also, take note: this business supposedly has over 2,000 five-star reviews and not a single bad one. That’s a red flag. Companies can (and do) pay to have negative reviews removed. I run a business myself, and I know because I get calls and emails offering the same service. This place has been open for around ten years, and no business can realistically have a spotless record that long.

My mom came down to visit for our birthdays. She mentioned her 50 year old wedding ring had a bent prong, a band that was wearing thin because she had to have it cut off when her hand was slammed in a car door and put back together with only a small amount of gold and the ring spun around on her finger, she was afraid she might loose it. I suggested taking the ring to Malak Jewelers. Once there we were greeted by a friendly, and turned out, very knowledgeable sales associate, Naomi. She patiently explained what they would do, my mom was also considering getting an accent ring to go around the ring so Naomi showed her some options and suggested if she didn’t see something she liked they could make her whatever kind of design she wanted. My mom decided to wait on the accent ring and concentrate on her wedding ring. Did I mention, my mom also had to head back home, several hours away, for a doctors appointment Monday afternoon. We went to Malak’s Friday afternoon and they had her ring cleand and ready for her to leave Monday morning. She was impressed and excited about the job they did and said she would bring her jewelry there from now on when needed and tell all her friends. She left this morning with a giant smile on her face and I know it had nothing to do with her leaving to go to a doctor’s appointment. Malak Jewelers and its employees are amazing. We actually stumbled upon them on accident over a year ago and I am so glad we did. My engagement ring came from a jeweler in Utah, but it was originally too big and we needed to get my finger properly sized to send it back out for resizing. The local shop we were going to walk into was closed, so we searched for the nearest jeweler that was open and that's how we found this place. Even though we explained that we didn't buy the ring from Malak and were not looking to buy anything at the time, Sheila was incredibly friendly and helpful, helping us to figure out my correct ring size. We were not pressured to buy anything and it felt that we were treated with the same care and attention as if we had been a paying customer.

Once it came time to start shopping for wedding bands (about a year later), we knew we needed to come here. We came twice before buying our bands and both times Sheila was great. She is really knowledgeable and had some good suggestions and advice. We were greeted by other staff and even offered champagne or something else to drink each time we came in. When I came in to pick up my band, they even cleaned my engagement ring for me and said I can come in any time to get it cleaned and inspected even though I did not purchase it from them.
