I came here with high expectations and they did not disappoint. This is my favorite restaurant in Cary and I’m so happy they opened a location in Charlotte. For context, we had a party of 8 that got split into 2 tables of 4. Our table’s total was around $132 pre tax and tip. There was a promotion for 20% off that brought it down to $110. I wanted to share some pros and cons about the experience and my qualifications are: i’m Chinese and I worked at a hotpot restaurant for a few years. Pros: the food. great choices and the broth was amazing. Remember that szechuan spicy does not equate to american spicy. we got the medium spicy beef tallow and tomato yuan yang pot. Next time, I will def op for the mild and the tomato was a bit on the light/bland side (normal for authentic chinese style). We ordered the large combo that feeds 3-4 and ordered some more stuff a la carte. the veggie platter does not come with enoki musrooms btw. the fried pork belly app WAS SO GOOD OMG. the ambiance is a lot different than the cary location, def a more open space concept. restaurant was clean. sue was our server, she did amazing although she was only training :) Cons: wait times (normal for soft opening but could def a call out). i added our table of 8 on the list at 6pm and was quoted 1.5hrs to sit together and 45 min to separate. we were okay to wait to sit together, ended up waiting the 1.5 hrs and then still ended up separating us. they only have 1 large table. I feel like thats such a flaw in their design because hotpot is such a familial/communal meal. it’s suppose to be interactive and conversational but they only had one large table that can fit up to 8 and it was barely any bigger than the 4tops. Definitely want to see them thrive here so they can open a second location in a bigger rental space hahahahah. no fan. not gonna lie, i started sweating before we even started eating. there’s so much condensation in the air, it was so hot and the floors were so slippery.
honestly, i may already be bias but i love this place. even with the...
Read moreMy gf and I decided to come try and get a table here. Only the two of us. Came on Wednesday at 6pm to put my name down on the list. Was quoted 75 minutes. No problem, understandable.. we waited the whole time. Around 7:20pm we went in and asked about how much longer it would be. There were still 11 tables in front of us. They said 30 minutes. No problem. We waited the whole time.. then around 8pm we asked again and there were 5 tables in front of us. They said another 30-45 minutes before we can get sat down inside. I've waited for almost two hours at this point.
We eventually left since the wait times were getting longer.
We'll update this review when we come back again when it's not busy and when they can update their system to show how many tables are...
Read moreSzechuan Mansion Hotpot completely blew me away. From the rich, authentic broth to the incredible quality of meats and ingredients, everything was top-tier. The flavors were bold and true to traditional Szechuan cuisine — perfectly spicy, fragrant, and full of depth.
The service was warm and attentive, and the space itself feels both modern and inviting — perfect for group dinners or date nights. I’ve tried several hotpot spots around Charlotte, and nothing even comes close to this level of quality and authenticity.
I’m genuinely so excited for this area of town to experience more cultural and culinary diversity. This place is a huge win for Charlotte’s food scene — I can’t wait to come back again and...
