This review is based on my recent experience with Crunch Fitness. I've been looking for a gym and decided to do the 3 day pass before signing up. I came into the gym and a very nice young lady checked me in and asked for my driver's license and ended up keeping my license. My issue with this is - what is the reason behind keeping someone's drivers license? That is a dangerous policy because people clearly leave without a license but I'll get to that. Check in was fine and I did one of the classes, Zumba, and that was fine too. I walked around the facility before taking the class and it was okay, kind of too warm inside and could have been cleaner but I get this was afterwork peak time. Anyway, took the class and absolutely walked out of the gym forgetting my driver's license and I'll admit that's on me because I thought I put it back in my wallet. Fastforward to the next day because again I'm doing the 3 day pass before committing. I noticed I didn't have my license in my wallet and since the gym was the only place I'd been, I decided to call there to see if my license was there. Some guy answered the phone and I inquired about my license. He asked me what I looked like as if that was the best identifier to go off of. I gave him my name and a description of myself and waited until he checked. He came back and said that they did not have my license but I know they did. No biggie since I planned to go to the gym that day anyway. I get to the gym and asked for someone to double check on my license because I know I left it there despite the phone person saying no. I told him look for the state my license was in since it's an out of state license and gave my name. He pulled 3 large stacks of licenses!!! And proceeded to say that a ton of people forget their license at the gym. By the way, he found my license after 2 seconds which makes me wonder if the other guy even looked. My thing is....why is there not a better process in place to return driver's licenses? And why collect them in the first place?! There was NO SIGN or any effort made to remind people to not forget their license. I barely rememered that they took my license in the first place. So that's my first beef with this place. My second beef, while I was there, I asked can I get checked in for another class since I had the 3 day pass. Same nameless person said "Oh we don't honor the 3 day pass at this location" I asked why because I sure enough have a 3 day pass that was emailed to me from Crunch and it was specifically for this location?! He just said he didn't know but they don't honor 3 day passes. So all in all it was a wasted, drive without a license trip to the gym. I want to know 2 things, what's the purpose for holding a driver's license, why isn't there an effort made to return driver's licenses ANNNND why does this specific location not honor 3 day passes when 3 passes are given out for this location. I'm giving this gym 2 star because there wasn't a single quality about the gym or my experience there that would merit more...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I am writing this because I don’t want anyone else to go through what I’ve been through. This isn’t just a bad customer service story — this is a warning to protect yourself. Months ago, I became very very sick with a serious disease that left me unable to move around much nevertheless go to the gym. My husband and I both had memberships, but he became my primary caretaker and obviously could not attend either. When I first called from the hospital, a young female manager treated me with kindness, asked for my medical proof via email, and confirmed in writing that BOTH memberships were canceled and that refunds would be processed and they were. I thought that was the end of it as she promised. But months later, I was STILL being charged for my husband. That’s when I spoke with Jason — and it was hands down the most heartless, cruel, and disgusting customer service experience of my life. Jason didn’t care that my husband had become my caretaker. He didn’t care that I had already sent medical proof or that I was previously told both memberships would be cancelled. He didn’t care that I had written confirmation from another manager. His exact stance? Only MY membership would be canceled because I was the sick one, not my husband. He REFUSED to refund the charges they continued to take, and told me my husband would have to come in and cancel his own membership, even though I had already provided proof and had everything in writing. Not only did he say that he would not refund us but that in order to cancel I will need to pay an additional $38 on top of what I was charged and lied too about.
I was floored. To be spoken to so coldly, with zero compassion, while I am battling a serious illness, was beyond humiliating and hurtful. Jason showed no empathy, no professionalism, and no humanity. He made it clear that to him, members are nothing more than dollar signs. If you care about your health, your dignity, and your hard-earned money, stay as far away from this Crunch Fitness as you can. Jason is not just a bad manager — he is a cruel person who should not be allowed to deal with the public, let alone people facing medical hardships. This gym is not a safe or trustworthy place. They will continue charging you, they will ignore their promises, and if you’re unlucky enough to deal with Jason, you will be treated like garbage. Please, learn from my experience and protect yourself. There are plenty of gyms out there that value people — this Crunch Fitness is NOT one of them. FYI: I have contacted corporate and am waiting to hear back from them as well regarding...
Read moreI used to like this gym but this gym is always crowded. I understand it’s close to the university , however, please consider opening another location near university because too many kids go here. Also please diversify the music the instructors play. Their numbers are dwindling down and i know for a fact it’s because of the music. I’ve been hearing the same dance playlist for over a year. I like the location at other Crunch’s better . The instructors diversify the music . The choreography is boring here and not challenging. Maybe i should Go back to the classes within a few months to see if anything changes. I burn more calories working out on a machine than the dance class which is sad, hope to see some change soon. Also please stay stacked with towels and hand sanitizer . Yall seem to always be out.
Edit: I’ve come to edit my review as of 1/15/25. This gym is something else. Please stop overselling memberships. The gym is way too crowded. I beg! Ever since Albert left this gym has drastically gone downhill. I’m unsure if Kristy Balfour the general manager needs to come and investigate the current staff because you all clean once a month. I am for certain that i got ill from people not wiping the machines down properly. Since January of 2025, I’ll be lucky to find a parking space. People have now started to park on the grass and beyond the bank. There used to be days i could count on the gym not being as packed. Thursday-Friday. However, that is no longer the case. The gym is crowded from when they open until closing everyday of the week. I would know because i gym everyday. This gym is like a club or lounge with everyone being an influencer. I thought the gym was a safe haven to workout. I understand taking pictures of your progress , yet I’m not trying to be filmed and posted on your YouTube for content creation. Seems as if almost out of 1/3 people will have a tripod and God forbid you are in their way. I am EXTREMELY disappointed of the declination of this establishment. If i didn’t have the membership that lets me travel to other Crunch locations , just know i BEEN would have CANCELLED! You have been WARNED reader. For those who are new and New Year’s resolution people, you will be discouraged from coming here and i am saying this will all sincerity. As an avid gym goer , i get discouraged of seeing all the tripods. You are signing up at...
