So excited to see The Beach Boys again and even better at a venue by house!! How cool is that? 😊. First time at the Amp, probably will be for a long while before I return too as they obviously have some things to improve. Things that were great… the space is lovely, the food trucks were wonderful (having a choice over the typical chicken tenders/burgers food at venues like this is always nice), staff was polite and helpful (besides the Amp employee who stomped up 3/4 way through The Beach Boys show and angrily grabbed the beach balls that had been passed around—their kind of a thing at their concerts!! Not to mention they had been passed most of the show?? We all were like why grab it now and act so angry about it???)We Uber to the show so we got in very easy but, I know the show was delayed because traffic was so bad getting into the venue and One wonders. Where is the parking? There were no signs! I also appreciate that they do have a real bathroom on site so you don’t have to use porta potties.
No, my biggest disappointment in this venue is the fact that they have Beer, Wine and Cocktail tents all over the venue with same exact thing, which is big beers (Mexican beers/ and 2 Noda Brewing beers—was it that hard to have Michelob Ultra and various other popular beers?), the Wine was the absolute worst and is the deal breaker for me really! They only had wine by the bottle and for that bottle they charge $50 for a bottle that typically retails for $8!!!! Way to gouge people!!! They then proceed to humor people and feel like they are meeting the demand for those who want wine by the glass by offering the disgusting wine spritzers (Bevs) which only come in Sauvignon and Rose. No Chardonnay!!! Know your community - the most popular white wine!!! Uggh! I’ve never been to a venue that didn’t have wine by the glass!! Barefoot has individual bottles, chateau St Michelle has individual bottles for that matter Sutter Homes!! We don’t expect the best but a house Chardonnay is not too much to expect!!! Gouging people to pay for an overpriced bottle is disappointing!!! Know your community and the people you serve!!!
Won’t say I won’t be back but it will have to be something special, and next time I’ll have a glass a wine at the restaurant close by before go in, and not spend any extra money there!!
Also I’ve read your responses to other people’s comments Acknowledging what they’re saying, but it doesn’t look like Anything is being done to fix the problems. Maybe you don’t care and this is the way you plan to run your...
Read moreWorst experience I have ever had at an outdoor event. The event staff( EPI Event Staff) was RUDE Racist and Aggressive towards my friend and I. One particular employee of the staff( older white male unshaved dirty wore hat at front entrance assisting people who could not download tickets) was straight out Racist and RUDE! He has no business working at any event where there is a diverse crowd.
This person ruined my experience at the venue. He talked to my friend and me like we were dirt!
We were told we could not bring chairs into the event but clearly a lie. Once inside venue we were told by Cltsoul festival we could bring chairs inside. We went back to get our chairs and let a person from EPI Staff event we were going back to our cars to get chairs. Then coming back into the event within 5 mins...we got stopped and harassed by the same Old White Male wearing a hat and shades. He had just saw us walk out to get chairs and he knew that.
Once back inside it started raining so my friend put up here umbrella. Then within 10 minutes the same Old White male came over to us and I quote, "I let ya'll back in twice( like we didn't have out tickets and he did us a favor by letting us back inside event) and I have to take the umbrella if ya'll don't put it away. I can understand the umbrella not being allowed but the way he spoke to us is unacceptable!
This whole experience involving the event staff made me not ever want to attend any events at this venue.
Ballantyne Amp needs to re evaluate who they hire for events. If they are having diversified events...the staff needs to learn how to treat the people attending the events.
This was the...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a terrible time at this venue after while experiencing the very chaotic, racist, organized, rude, and aggressive workers (the security team and from the event coordinators) . I purchased tickets here at the gate for my fiance and I after planning to celebrate his birthday here. After ubering from a half-hour away, walking past security to get to the ticket booth, within minutes of paying over $150 for both of our tickets , we walked a couple steps away to head to security to be let in. I am wearing a crossbody bag about 6x6 inches. Security tells me that I cannot come in bc my bag is too big. Why wasnt I told this beforehand after standing here purchasing tickets when it was listed nowhere on Tixr website that there would be no bags allowed unless in clear bag? I ask such questions and let them know that we just ubered here from a half hour away and I have medicine in my bag for for severe allergic reactions which can take up space. I let the know security know if this is a security issue, I can open my bag for you to search it. A female security/manager with neck tattoos and about 5’3” declined and said the bag wasnt coming in, she proceeded to get in my physically get in my face and scream at me. I was shocked, but asked her to kindlt step away from me and we then requested a refund and they said we couldnt get one and had to go through a third party. So unorganized. Terrible experience. The PNC is much better venue with better customer service.
Update: No one ever followed up with me from this establishment neither did anyone help us...
