Our son and daughter in law took us to dinner on Sunday January 19th while we were visiting them in Charlotte, while the food was very good, the service left us disappointed and frustrated. It was restaurant week so I guess they were busier than normal causing some confusion. We ordered from the fixed price Queen's Feast menu: appetizers, entree and dessert. The appetizers were delicious we thoroughly enjoyed the Sicilian Meatballs, Cacio e Pepe Arancini and Little Gem Caesar salads we had. Unfortunately after the appetizers there was some confusion and our dessert was brought out! The Bombolini looked piping hot and smelled fantastic and the presentation on long serving dishes made everyone around us want them and made us look forward to dessert. Unfortunately the servers seemed shocked to learn we hadn't been served our entrées yet and the desserts had to go back to the kitchen. When we received the Bombolini after completing our entrée it was a totally disappointing experience because now they were cold, stacked on small round saucers and soggy from sitting in the strawberry coulis, obviously they were just sitting the entire time we continued to wait for our entrées and ate. The entrées of Chicken Parmesan with parmesan rigatoni, Lasagna Bianca al Forno, Bolognese, Spicy Rigatoni Vodka Pasta were all very tasty. Again after the meal more confusion as the check was brought to the table and we had not been charged properly for the Queen's Fest pricing. Our server took the check back and had someone else present the corrected check.
While overall the food was very good I would hesitate to return due to the confusion and disappointment that our dessert was not only brought out before the entrées but that when presented after the entrées it was not freshly prepared and instead was sitting and cold. I respect the challenges a kitchen faces during busy times however the customers dining experience should not suffer due to the staffs mixup and our experience was definitely not what...
Read moreFirst and foremost the service at this restaurant was horrible. From the time we placed our order to when we received it, it took 45 minutes. We waited at least 20 minutes before a waitress took an We waited at least 20 minutes before our waitress took our orders. Others around us were getting their food and they were seated a little after us. We flagged down our waitress and asked her about our food and she said , “oh they are making it right now. It should be ready in a few minutes”. 10 minutes later, the food came out it was cold. Obviously it had been sitting there for sometime. When we complained to the waitress that the food was cold, she said “ we could take this back and reheat it”. Instead we asked for them to remake it within five minutes we received some of our meals back and they also were not hot. At this time we just said, forget it let’s eat and get out of here. The first bite of our food it was awful. The calamari was so salty. You couldn’t eat any more than one. The pizzas were very salty and tasteless. The other pasta, dishes were salty as well.
In my opinion, this is some of the worst food I’ve ever tasted that tries to call itself, Italian. I would personally not recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for Italian food. The service was horrible, the food was awful, it was salty and beyond going any further than one bite and leaving it alone. Never again will I ever go to North Italia.
It’s sad. We had a family reunion and the majority of our family was booked at roosters. Roosters accommodated all 36 for us. We Canceled tables at Italia. Thank god the all were taken care of except the seven of us who planned the reservations. They raved about the food at Roosters. I was glad that none of our family was at North Italia. Once again, I will never support this restaurant. Sorry but the food here is not even close to Italian. A no go place for me...
Read moreUnfortunately, I decided to bring my sister here for dessert… we ordered the brookie Sunday. Upon receiving it and taking a couple bites, my sister said something tickled her top lip as she was putting the spoon in her mouth. WELL… it was a red hair that had been baked inside of the brookie and was sticking out halfway…. We let the waitress in the manager, know the manager very emotionless partially apologized, and came back and brought a new one. On the second try after taking a few bites to my surprise!!! Again!! Another mystery object was found inside of this new brookie. I had to pull it out of my mouth, it was a string of some sort with paper texture or at least I hope it was, I was so disgusted because it looked like a worm I couldn’t even inspect it fully to identify what it was… at this point, my stomach had turned in all different directions and so did my mood. When we told the manager he too, could not identify what it was. Again, the manager emotionless and minimally apologetic acted like a cabbage just Bland… opted to say the kitchen said it was a Brulé piece of banana (huh?) it was a string! Nothing on this dish has to be Brulé and last time I checked bananas didn’t look like strings. God only knows what mystery I pulled out of my mouth. Yuck!!!! by far the worst experience we asked for the check, to our surprise, the emotionless manager waved the check because we had just had just completed our second round of fear factor… so I guess that was our grand prize!!! we later recommended to the manager to check his kitchen and also mentioned how unpleasant it was for people to have their dogs sit at the table and eat off of the tables at the restaurant.. and again the cabbage, showed no emotion just nodded and Rolled away…. I love dogs and own dogs myself. I just think it’s disgusting to be at a “fine dining restaurant” and see the dog next to me, licking the...
