We went to Honeysuckle Gelato after dinner at Flower Child. 2 stars for the Vegan Choclate Brownie Chunk "gelato". It's not even close to true gelato. I asked the staff what milk it's made from, thinking coconut, soy, oat, etc., and they said it has NO milk. I thought they had to be mistaken and ordered it anyway, but they were correct. It's WATER-based with xanthum gum as the thickener. It fell WAY short of "good" and was nothing like dairy-free gelato we've had other places. Been there twice and really wanted to like this place but the gelato is just waaaaaaaaaaaay too sweet for my palette and they don’t have wafer cones! What?! So overload of sugar on top of more sugar. Flavors aren’t all that special for me to want to come back and try something new. Mint is my fave which is never available. It was such a hot day so we decided to give this place another shot. Husband and I both threw away half our ice cream and even my son ordered the chocolate brownie and only ate half. Located right at The Bowl, Honeysuckle is perfect for post-dinner dessert. What I love about this location is the incredibly friendly staff!! As soon as we walked in today, Ashley greeted us with a warm smile and let us try as many flavors as we wanted!
