I wish that I was able to leave a higher rated review, but due to the rudeness of the grounds employee, I am unable to do so. I had parked my vehicle in the parking area and was waiting for my partner to show up. During my wait as I sat in my car, a lady who was working with the flowers near the parking area came to my car and rudely told me to move. She said I had pulled in at a bad angle and I was blocking the parking for other people. The problem was I in fact parked at an angle BUT I had parked with other cars that were too parked at an angle. I was confused and asked what she meant since I was parked next to other vehicles at the same angle. She told me I had parked wrong, I was in the way and I needed to move or go park in the street somewhere else. I responded that there was nothing wrong with the way I had parked and that I had parked the same way everyone else was parked. She began to argue and tell me that I was in the way, and that I needed to go on or move into the street. I’m really not sure what her concern was with my parking. she was so rude and unwelcoming that I just decided to leave. I called my partner and told them not to worry about meeting me there, that the grounds workers would make them feel very unwelcome. It’s a shame I was unable to follow through with my lunch plans for the day. my hope was to leave a five star review after visiting the district but thanks to the rude lady working the flowers I am only leaving two stars. I’m honestly just confused why she would approach a person sitting in their car parked amongst other parked vehicles and try to make them feel unwelcome the way she made me feel. I hate leaving a poor review for an area that is beautiful and that I was excited to visit but my experience was so ridiculous that I felt the need to do so. I hope others who visit this area have a better experience than I did. People need to understand that everyone working for an area, be it in the restaurants, the museums or even your grounds workers are a representative of that space. One rude employee can negatively affect the way a potential patron feels...
Read moreI just had the rudest encounter with some man putting a sign on my car that said the lot was reserved for Bluff View patrons. Which I was. My friend and I had just had breakfast at Rembrandts. The man went in to argue with us over where we “should” have parked... I guess we weren’t close enough to Rembrandts for his taste. When we kindly stated we had been parking here for years and doing our walk/breakfast dates, he said “there is no way to explain this to people who don’t understand business.” My friend is a business owner. I’m a minister. But because we are young-ish females, the assumption is we can’t understand business. I don’t understand rude, sexist men. I don’t understand how that works with your business model Bluff View. It is a bad look. I won’t be giving my money to businesses that assume I’m an idiot because I’m a female. I encourage others to consider...
Read moreI miss the old Bluff View District! It's really gone downhill since Michael left. The new renovations to Rembrandt's leave it feeling cold and impersonal, just like any other coffee shop (if not for the patio, they would not have such a good business), and the menu has been severely limited. Back Inn closed and with it took a good restaurant, leaving only Tony's with its overcooked pasta and noisy, boring atmosphere. I miss the wine tastings; they were the best part of the Bluff. I've given it 2 stars only for the art; they do a fabulous job with the sculpture garden and other pieces scattered throughout the Bluff, and the Gallery is still very good. Except for the art, no real reason to go here anymore. I miss the old Bluff...
