Today I visited the Gunbarrel saloon location and was very excited for my appointment. My anticipation for my hair appointment quickly turned into a nightmare!. I had scheduled highlights with KEYA online (there was no price attached), a supposed "Master Director." Unfortunately, I ended up waiting for 25 minutes before she arrived. During that time, we discussed opting for partial highlights. However, I had to wait an additional 10 minutes because she had two other customers and seemed to be taking her time. Finally, she started working on my hair, 40 mins into the appointment. But things took a turn for the worse when I asked her about the total cost of my services. To my surprise, she quoted me $100, which initially seemed reasonable. However, as she proceeded with the foils, she casually mentioned that an additional toner would cost $60. I was still willing to accommodate that within my budget. However, just 10 minutes later, she suddenly informed me that a blow-dry would cost an extra $60. I was taken aback and felt the need to clarify the situation. It was frustrating to discover that the partial highlights would now cost me a total of $220. I really wish she had disclosed this information earlier. Instead of addressing my concerns calmly, she became visibly angry and abusive with her behavior. She went on to compare my previous services (I was in the salon twice before and had no problems), threw her pen down, and condescendingly offered to call the manager. I was shocked by her unprofessional reaction and didn't know how to respond. Merely asking about the price should not have resulted in such an attitude. The manager eventually arrived and attempted to understand my perspective, but I was already so upset and crying that I decided to have my hair washed and leave. Another employee, who was genuinely kind, took care of washing my hair. Despite being instructed not to blow-dry it, she went above and beyond and gave it a quick blow-dry for two minutes. As a result, I left the salon with wet and dripping hair. It was an incredibly humiliating and mistreatment experience. What saddened me the most was that this incident occurred in a hair salonāa place where women go to relax, have a good time, and boost their confidence. KEYA needs to be held accountable for her lack of personal skills and her rude treatment to customers. The salon management should seriously consider terminating...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHair Benders of East Ridge has an amazing professional, for whom I drive over two hours monthly (an hour each way) for my haircut and have NEVER regretted it! I have stubborn red hair with a few waves and she skillfully gives me a gorgeous cut I can simply "wash & wear"by using just a bit of argan oil on my wet hair. That's how I usually wear it. But, I have an option of blowing it dry while brushing it under, for a nicely polished look, lightly spraying with a product I purchased there. She styles it after each cut and I feel like a million dollars every time I walk out.
She is in the main floor which may be where the more expensive professionals operate. The wash, cut, and style was $60, not including my usual 20% tip.Yes, more than quick cut places. But, I am truly in awe of her talent and will not consider going to anyone else. I've been to others years ago, and never could I just wash and go and love the way my hair looked! I drive a convertible with the top down to enjoy the sun and don't have to worry about my hairstyle too much! It's the GREAT CUT! You have to pay more because her skill is above most others. To always love my cut every single time, be able to not spend any time "making" my hair looked nice, is WELL worth the travel and cost.
I use their products and their amazing brushes, which are simply better than any others, but cost very reasonably (I think just $20 and my main one is 15 years old).
No one has ever tried to sell me anything at all! I am the one asking about which products to use and love their products!
Importantly, the staff answer my questions with NO condescending looks or haughty replies. I may ask a stupid question, but I am treated kindly and feel valued. THAT is very important to me. I see how other clients are treated, and I am impressed!
I highly recommend Hair Benders of East Ridge if you want an excellent cut. Yes, it will cost more than quick-type hair salons, perhaps twice more. BUT, I've seen the work of the professionals here on other clients. They're great and it's worth the cost! I love how my hair looks, am in awe of the skill as the professional cuts it, and can't imagine going anywhere else!
Perhaps, if you tell the appointment scheduler your hair type (long, short, straight, wavy, curly, etc), the appointment scheduler can better match you with the best professional...
Ā Ā Ā Read moresaw someone say you arenāt getting what youāre over paying for and i agree. long story short i asked for darkish green colored highlights and i got grass green with a bit of yellow in some places. my hair used to reach my waist, i wanted to cut most of it, the length that was cut was okay, the haircut was not, one side longer than the other and just uneven all around. she finished bleaching and washing then causally mentioned an extra charge for the blow dry which i didnāt understand because you canāt color my hair if you donāt dry it? before applying the color my hair was very orange ( iāve had my hair colored plenty of times so i knew we didnāt need it to be blonde blonde for the green to show) but it shouldnāt have been orange. after washing the color out she asked if i wanted anything else, i wasnāt trying to be charged more and said no, she blow dried my hair again and tried styling i could smell my hair and i clearly made a face because of the heat she tried styling the ends and i could see how uneven my hair was, if this was the charge she mentioned i wouldāve just left with my hair wet, keya? is who i had, (seen a bad review.. thought she wouldāve been hard to talk to) we didnāt talk much but she was very kind. i didnāt come there for nice words i wanted nice hair. i was the last one there (like i said before iāve seen a bad review on keya before) didnāt want to start anything so i just paid, left no tip, fixed the color a bit at home, i havenāt tried fixing the haircut. told her i would be coming back at the start of it and i might. i saw other bad reviews, many great ones too, for how much they charge you should be aware of what to expect! iāve been to many different places who charge way less and did an amazing job. for how much they charge perfect or close to it is expected. pick someone already known to be good by the reviews and hope theyāre available or just be blonde already! only good thing about my experience was that everyone...
