5his place needs a massive remodel. When we pulled up, we were a little disappointed with the look of the hotel. It is too stories with outdoor stairs, no elevators (we like this when we dont have so many things to bring up and down). The view to the lake was okay. It wasn't a relaxing view. We could see a very small "beach" in front of the hotel and a small grassy area with a small view of the water. The rooms were VERY small. The closet was hard to get into with the beds being so close to the walls. The sink area is outside of the bathroom. No big deal but with small kids with another battle with all the things to play with. The amount we paid to stay here did not meet the room and hotel we saw.
The pros- a lake view-sort of Proximity to town (a pretty busy intersection at the main lobby area but most of the streetside stores are in a good walking distance. Food (pay) on site
Had we paid less, we may have had a higher review or if this hotel was remodeled. We were supposed to stay 3 nights and changed it to 1 after arrival.
UPDATED- Campbell's Resort. Yes- we are reviewing the correct resort. Our room was on the 2nd floor in building 4. We did not see/find nor were told about any elevators. We had a massive tree in front of our window so we did NOT have a full view of the lake. This is an opinion from a guest. Reviews are made to help other guests make a better decision for themselves and for you, as the property, to make good decisions for the future to better serve your guests.
To add to our review. The road noise at this property is TERRIBLE. We thought there was all night construction outside and after walking to the road, it was just passing traffic. We heard it ALL night. It rained later in the night and with wet roads made the road noise worse. The rooms did not do well to block sound. We have little kids and they did not sleep well.
I am bumping my review...
Read moreI have been visiting Lake Chelan and Campbell's since I was a child and have continued to come yearly every summer into my adulthood. It's one of my favorite places to get soak up the sun and relax and we always stay at Campbell's. I stayed at Campbell's for my bachelorette party, my best friends wedding, and almost every wedding anniversary of my own. I'm saddened to say, this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in regards to customer service, ANYWHERE! We had booked a room for the weekend of August 28th for our anniversary, and due to the fires we cancelled. I still wanted to go, so I watched the webcam and the weather for the following week and we booked for Labor Day weekend. I called and booked the King Deluxe room, which cost $386 a night. When we arrived and went up to our room it was a Queen Deluxe. I called the front desk and explained what was going on, and I was told I must have booked the wrong room and there was nothing else available. I was shocked to hear this considering I have been to Campbell's on Labor Day weekend many times, and the hotel was dead in comparison to other years. The woman who answered the phone and the manager were very rude, and just kept telling me that there must have been a mix up. At the end of our conversation I was offered $20 off per night, which never happened... This hotel is far too expensive to not offer the most amazing customer service possible. If they would have been apologetic, not blamed me for the "mix-up", and offered us a couple of free drinks or something; I would feel like they actually cared. Blaming the customer who has frequented your establishment for many years is not a good idea. Unfortunately we will not be coming back to Campbell's. We will be giving the Grandview our business...
Read moreMy wife and I made a reservation for a Saturday night in December, planning to do some Christmas shopping and visit relatives there. Unfortunately, the weather turned sour and we had to cancel our trip due to road conditions. Their cancellation policy (in the winter) is 7 days (it is a month in advance if the reservation is over a holiday!). I called to see if the resort would send us a voucher to use in the future, since we go to Chelan fairly often. I was told no and that the only thing they could do was to rebook the reservation for a set date in the future. I explained that we had no idea when we would be there next but tried to estimate a date when I thought we might be visiting my wife's family, thinking that if I didn't have the date right we would be able to cancel or change it in plenty of time. I was then told that if they rebooked my reservation (even if it is for a year from the time of the original reservation) that it will be non-refundable and can not be changed! So, basically we were charged a night's lodging, despite making every attempt to comply with their policies. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very rude (I was really shocked at how rude she was) and made little to no effort to work with me. I have not had this poor of an experience with a hotel in a long time, and will definitely not ever stay at this resort in the future. I think that Campbell's is a good example of a big resort in a little town that currently has a monopoly which allows them to take advantage of their customers. That may not always be the case, however. I know they won't ever have me back...
