Bear Foods Natural Market — Local services in Chelan

Great place for those traveling around the area. It's on the dowtown Lake Chelan strip. It's like a mini Whole foods. I was staying in Lake Pateros town and drove to Bear Foods every day for breakfast at their crepearie where they serve crepes every morning starting at 9:30am. They have many organic, and non-gmo foods to choose from. The breakfast crepes were good and filling, with such ingredients as peppers, sauerkrat, organic eggs, cheese etc. They are kind of like omlets. They also have fresh juice bar juices and u must try their Chai!!! The hot chai was delish with free refills. Also, customer service was excellent, the cook and people working there smile and talk to customers making sure everyone enjoys their meals. So, this is my second time reviewing this place. First time it was good. Nice food, nice menu choice and good service. Second time it was awful (never go there again - awful!!) The chef stands behind the counter and makes your food in front of you. Thus time there seemed to be no server working. Firstly it took me ages to get served and service involved the chef shouting across the room to me asking me what I was going to have (I had got the menu myself) This immediately made me feel like my presence there was in fact bothersome to him. During the entire time I was there the chef chatted with a friend sitting at the counter. I felt like I was interrupting two friends who were chatting after not having see each other for sometime. If you are a chocolate lover, be sure to look even beyond their large chocolate bar department. Look in the top center of the dairy cooler for Honey Mama's several varieties. Yes, most chocolate bars are fine un-refrigerated, but these get very soft quickly if not. You are in for a treat!

Also, during winter months their Café Crêperie usually has a European style hot chocolate. It is very thick and far darker than most people are used to having; I sometimes ask for whipped cream or Coconut Whip, yum! A partial cup may not look like a lot, yet, I find it sufficing wonderfully.
