I recently had the pleasure of dining at LA Cantina Grill, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that left my taste buds dancing with delight. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat.
To start off our culinary adventure, we decided to sample their Mojitos. These zesty, refreshing cocktails were nothing short of tasteful perfection. The balance between the mint, lime, and just the right amount of sweetness was impeccable. Sipping on those Mojitos set the stage for an unforgettable evening.
My girlfriend opted for the sopes with steak for her dinner, and she was thrilled with her choice. The sopes were expertly crafted, with a crispy exterior that gave way to a soft, flavorful interior. Topped with a medley of fresh and vibrant ingredients, it was a true fiesta of flavors on her plate.
As for me, I couldn't resist the allure of their steak and shrimp fajitas! The sizzle and aroma as they brought the sizzling skillet to our table were enough to make my mouth water. The generous portion of tender, perfectly cooked steak and succulent grilled shrimp, along with the colorful array of peppers and onions, made for a mouthwatering, savory delight. I would also like to add that the presentation of the food was beautiful too.
What truly surprised us during our visit was the lightning-fast service. We barely had time to take in the delightful decor and ambiance before our food arrived, and it only took a mere three minutes from the moment we ordered. The efficiency without sacrificing quality was remarkable and my girlfriend & myself were both impressed.
The guacamole, which we requested to have a spicy zest, was freshly made and provided the perfect kick to complement our dishes. The creamy texture and bold flavor of the guacamole were the perfect accompaniment to our meal.
Now, the final touch that tied this exceptional dining experience together was the value. Our total bill came to $75, and considering the quality of the food, the lightning-fast service, and the overall experience, it was worth every penny.
LA Cantina Grill has truly left an indelible mark on our culinary journey. From their delectable Mojitos to the flavorful fajitas, and the speedy yet impeccable service, this restaurant is a hidden gem in the heart of Los Angeles. If you're looking for a dining experience that surprises, delights, and satisfies, do not miss LA Cantina Grill. It's a treasure waiting to be discovered, and we can't wait to return for another...
Read moreMy ex GF & I came here on Saturday (1/6/24). It was our second time coming. First time we only had drinks. We ordered frozen margaritas & they were watery. Second time we ordered drinks & food. This time we tried the margaritas on the rocks & they were much better. However, I have been to other spots where the margaritas are around the same price & you’ll get a good buzz off of one. That’s not gonna happen at this location. Maybe if you don’t drink at all you’ll feel one. I personally didn’t.
The server wasn’t very attentive. He only came to the table when we stopped him other than that he didn’t check on us after we got our food. My ex ordered chicken nachos & found a piece of cauliflower on her plate. Also some of her chips were burnt. I ordered chicken fajitas. The chicken on both of our plates were extremely seasoned w/ pepper & nothing else. The fajitas came w/ a side of rice & beans, a small cup of pico de gallo & a small cup of fresh guacamole. The plate was a saucer sized plate. It was my first time going to a Mexican restaurant & getting a saucer sized plate of sides. Usually the plate is a full sized plate w/ lettuce, sour cream, cheese, pico de gallo, rice, refried beans & sauce w/ optional fresh guacamole.
There were mostly veggies in my fajita mix & there was a piece of zucchini in the mix as well. The food also came out extremely fast, which I know it was pre cooked & just warmed up. I rather my food be freshly cooked & take a while. I rather my food be seasoned w/ other seasonings other than just pepper. I rather my food not be rushed to be made, cuz how else did cauliflower & zucchini get on the plate.
We chose not to make a big deal about it as my ex isn’t the type of person to complain about things too much as she paid for the majority of the bill. The total was a little over $80, because we got 3 margaritas along w/ our food. To me it was a waste of money. If we do return it will be for drinks only. I personally won’t ever eat here again.
The chips & salsa was the only food item that was good. The atmosphere is great. The food &...
Read moreDO NOT COME HERE. Tourists trying out a cool looking restaurant for late lunch near where we stayed, wish we went somewhere else. Took 10 minutes to get our waters (there were only 3 other tables in use, all had already been served food), our waiter was blatantly high (red eyes, incredibly forgetful and unhelpful, relaying information incorrectly when confronted about bad food, etc). Did I mention he was on his phone in the back the entire time and only checked on us once during our entire visit? He told us that queso was not an option to order (It was written on the menu?) but moved past it. Ordered 2 quesadillas. Food came out very quickly and hot. I bit into my quesadilla only to be slapped in the face with charcoal. Like, all I could taste was charcoal. Took another bite and to my surprise I actually found a fragment of some! Opened it up and you can see the photos for yourself. Cheese barely melted, MAYBE 10 tiny squares of steak total but they were so blatantly overcooked and rock hard that it was inedible, and the tortilla was soaked through with oil. My cohorts quesadilla was exactly the same but with shrimp and chicken as well. When I confronted the waiter, he went and told management something totally different than what I had explained (again, seemingly so high he could not recollect anything). They took the wrong thing off the bill. Management was rude, blunt, and unhelpful. The bartender actually ended up being decent and solving the problem instead, but only so much. I was also told by him that they weren’t at fault and that “I must’ve been taken off guard because they cook all their meat on a charcoal grill”. I cook on one at home and have never had similar issues let alone pieces of the stuff in my food. They only took off one quesadilla and we still payed almost $50 with tip. Incredibly disappointing service, food quality, and care for customers. Would not recommend this to anyone who is looking for decent mexican food in this area and will absolutely never...
