Horrible situation tonight with their door greeter Jose. So my GF and I had just moved into a new place together and had to get a LOT of things from a budget friendly store. We did the typical new renters stuff for the home and were happy. A great night. Even at the risk of catching some super human flu we went and had a blast shopping for necessities together. Anyways after leaving the line from paying we were accosted by this old man who was hell bent on seeing our receipt. After spending over an hour in the store buying things we need and spending money that I personally feel should had gone to Target we have this unprofessional pompous decide to try and strong arm our cart on the way out since I WIL NOT provide a receipt ever for any Walmart store. Common sense should had told this meat-head that if I’m coming from the cashier side then I have gone through a line. If I had came from the Money Services area then I’d want to check to ensure people have an actual receipt as they could just leave avoiding the cashiers all together. I honestly have NEVER been so disgusted in my life with someone trying to restrain me from living life. I paid. We paid. And then to have this man tell me that I can’t leave? Utter disgust. Walmart now trains senior citizens that they can place hands on others if they don’t get what they demand? Walmart trains it’s employees to restrict people’s rights to safe travel? I went back in after putting my groceries away to speak with a supervisor regarding the incident and approached the tyrant door greeter and politely asked his name. Of course his badge was reversed but being a former Walmart employee in my 20’s I was able to read his name from his time card barcode. When he realized who I was he then asked “why” and “for what” like he felt he did nothing wrong. After telling him I was going to speak with his CSM/Front End Sup he asks what are they gonna do and then speaks to his colleague who remained professional when I refused to show my receipt to him! Like every other door greeter. Anyways the lady who came out of the management office assured me she would let his manager know. But in all honesty it’s the store manager, the DM who should know. They need to train these employees to NOT touch others. We live in a society where mental illness is high. People feel entitled. Which is which? Who knows. More reason to remove this guy from the front end and make him a bike assembler and away from patrons entirely. This man had too much liberty given and should be reminded that he was 100% in the wrong for attempting to stop me and MOST definitely should had NEVER touched my cart or tried pulling it back into the store.
I will not be going back to this specific Walmart again and will keep to the Otay Ranch and Dennery store. Those door greeters respect the patrons who assist in their 401k/profit sharing. Those employees understand people’s rights and don’t try to “police” shoppers.
I’d laugh if Ewing was still managing that location as I’d March right into his office and ask him to check that grumpy old man and hope he’d retrain him on being professional and reflect the right values that older associates radiated.

Waited for a long time in electronics attempted to have an associate call for assistance they blew off the request stating there was only one associate working there as if I didn’t know. Spanish seems to be the main communication language amongst employees and non Spanish speaking customers alike which seems strange in a US location. I finally got to the front of the line and requested that I needed a game from the cage the associate walks with me and strangely stops to assist another customer waiting at a different cage. I thought nothing of it as the line was busy I assumed she was trying to assist to expedite things. But then she proceeds to walk the customer back and ring the client up before even helping me again I was next in line can’t make this stuff up. Then I grab her attention again and she begins to fault me stating I didn’t tell her anything. Why would a customer be waiting in line be randomly with a different client who just so happens to waiting in another completely different aisle for assistance. Mind you I didn’t show any sign of knowing the man only pure shock at her actions and now frustration from her lack of customer service and common sense. In the end she told me that she could not do an exchange there and to go to the customer service location. The associate never checked the type of return I had whether it be opened or unopened. This was a same day video game purchase at another location that had been opened. If the associate would have done the bare minimum in her job instead of passing the buck I could have been informed of their policy they do not accept opened games. So in the end I walked all the way back to the front of the store to the customer service line … to WAIT yet again only to be told that policy and had to purchase the game outright. A purchase that could have been made in the electronics department from the beginning. This department needs some retraining and a corporate visit all this frustration just trying to buy one game...
Read more-Extremely Rude and Frustrating Experience with Multiple Employees-
I don't know what happened today, but I encountered three separate employees who were so rude that I left the store feeling extremely upset.
My frustrating experience started at the self-checkout machines. A female employee yelled at me, "You can't use this machine!" without any explanation. I moved to another one, and the same employee yelled the same thing. When I asked, "Are the machines not working?" she just pointed at my beer and said in Spanish, "Necesitas ir a un cajero" (You need to go to a cashier). I thought, "Okay, fine."
The second employee I asked for help was at the assisted self-checkout counter. I inquired if it was possible to pay for the beer there, and she just bluntly told me, "Go to cashier 5," with no further assistance.
The worst interaction was at cashier 5. I said, "Good evening," but the cashier didn't respond or make eye contact. He just started scanning my items. Then, he said "ID" in a very low voice. When I asked him to repeat because I didn't hear him, he said much louder and slower, "I-D-E-N-T-I-F-I-C-A-T-I-O-N," which felt condescending. I showed him my ID, and as I was putting it away, he yelled, "HOLD IT!" while typing the number incredibly slowly. I asked if he could just scan the barcode, but he ignored me. After finishing, he said, "You're good," and continued scanning my beer. When I asked if Walmart's system couldn't scan ID barcodes, he just replied, "Whatever." Finally, when handing me the receipt, he let it go before I had a firm grip. I said, "Thank you," and received no response.
I expect professional and courteous customer service, especially in the USA. This entire experience was unacceptable and has sadly changed my perception...
