I definitely will not be returning to this market. First, they did not have the fish I was looking forâcatfish and codâwhich was disappointing. While they did have salmon that looked fresh for the most part, I didnât buy any because there was a clear language barrier. Thereâs no effort to provide translation or any kind of service to help you explain what you want.
The young man behind the counter, though polite at first, showed attitude just for cleaning a fishâas if customers are supposed to already know exactly what they want without asking. Everything was labeled in English, so yes, you could see what type of fish or shrimp was available.
The lady at the register was also rude. Maybe itâs cultural not to make eye contact or to avoid handing money directly into a customerâs hand, but the way it came across was dismissive. She was too busy chatting with her colleague and another customer while rushing me to swipe my card, even though she hadnât finished her part on the register yet. It was frustratingâjust slow down and pay attention.
I did pick up some beef bones for my dog and noticed they had blue crabs, which initially got me excited since Iâm from Baltimore. But when I shook the box, nothing movedâclearly not alive, which was another letdown.
Compared to H-Mart locations in Maryland, this place doesnât even come close. The fish sections there are organized, clean, and the staff are professional and attentive. Here, it was chaotic, unhelpful, and discouraging.
At the end of the day, Iâd rather spend my money...

Read moreThis is a friendly, well-stocked Asian grocery store with competitive prices and clear pricing. They have a huge variety of ramen, tea, frozen goods, condiments, dried components, (mushrooms, roots, etc.), produce, imported dishes and tools (back of the store off the refrigerated vegetable section), noodles, rice, broth mixes and seasonings, exotic canned goods, and snack food. Iâm vegan so I donât bother with the meat section, which is average sized. The seafood department is large and accounts for my one docking of a starâthis place has The Smell. Not terrible, but you can tell that lots of fish have been through these doors.
Speaking of vegans, #protipâthey have vegetarian oyster sauce, dairy- and animal-free dumplings and buns (frozen, back wall), many iterations of tofu in every texture, vegan ramen, lots of vegan snacks, and all the mushrooms you need to make convincing vegan sushi. You should also check out the âsoy chickenâ, vegan frozen meats (R side wall toward the back) and prepared rice noodles (drunken...
