Xtreme Discount Mattress — Attraction in City of Batavia

My daughter's twin mattress, bought in store and tied to the top of my car that day (by us,I understand they do not help due to insurance issues) is FANTASTIC. It's 5 years old now, and as nice as the day we bought it. I declined the protector they sell, it was for a kid and I have a system of keeping 3 cotton protectors on all mattress we own at all times. Theirs was not needed, they were slightly pushy about it at the time. A 5 yr old is not going to care about comfort level. She is 10 now and still loves her bed and foundation (which I put a fitted sheet on). It looks brand new. I loved hers so much ("firm" but I don't recall the make, it's not on the tag) that during quarantine I decided to get rid of my extra firm city mattress brand Cali King. It was amazing, but took up half my bedroom, and was too long. I could not open the closet door all the way. I wanted to set up my old double bedstead (a foot shorter in length) and bought an Amherst Firm (or possibly extra firm?) online. I should have tried it in store. At the time, there was not one to try in store. It's hard as a rock, like sleeping on a plank (and I am a sz 18/20 female, 5 ft 7. Not small. I thought it would break in and soften up, it has not. I bought 3 inch memory foam topper, and a down alternative topper on top of that and it's much better. I had NO IDEA such a firm bed existed. I always buy the firmest bed I can find and am comfortable, except this one. Prior to adding the foam and down alternative, I had three regular cotton mattress pads on it. It felt like sleeping on a box spring. I had bruises and shoulder/hip pain It's seriously that hard. My advice is, don't believe reviews online for any bed at any store, go in and try it. If you order on line, get whatever you need to do for the 30 day comfort exchange. As this is a HARD bed, not firm or extra firm. It seems like a knockoff version of "The Plank", a bed made for people used to sleeping on the floor who just want to be elevated on a western style bed. The description of "firm" is a little misleading. It should say that it's hard,like a floor. I will say that about 2 years later there's zero sagging (and I am big) and it looks brand new. The downside, due to all the things I had to put on top to make it comfortable, I feel like I have to pole valult into it. It's so high! The mattress, even without my additions is VERY tall when combined with a traditional foundation and my metal 9 leg frame. There was not a low profile foundtion option available online for this model when I bought it. I am in the process of replacing it now. It's a well made mattress, but like sleeping on a board with a slight wiggle to it. My bad for thinking firm was firm (like my city mattress extra firm) and there was not much difference. There is. Go and try whatever you are interested in, IN PERSON and buy it there, that day. Delivery was a week early on the online purchase, unexpected in the middle of virtual school, and I had not removed my old bed. The new one sat wrapped in my living room for a week and I dragged it up the stairs myself. Final thought: Buying a child's bed? This place is excellent. For an adult, especially an older adult like me with aches and pains, go to city mattress in Amherst. I have purchased 2 beds there, one is 35 years old and still going strong in the guest room (my childhood bed). But like I said, this is an excellent place to grab a twin mattress for your kids, fast and easy, you'll be home with it within an hour. If you are old and have aches and pains like me, get something better or atleast something that is available to try in the store. I really thought I was buying a larger version of my daughter's bed. Not having name labels on the mattress, made it hard to tell. I knew hers was a firm, from the same store, but apparently there are MANY versions of firm. Long story short, purchased a mattress purchase soft mattress declined mattress cover because I already have one was told that the protector if declined would make the warranty no good if there was damage done to the mattress within the 30 days, not a problem I understood, however I signed off on the protector on a soft mattress when delivered they delivered me a firm and stead of the soft and refuse to switch it out and give me the soft mattress I paid for because they said I didn’t purchase the bed protector most insane thing I’ve ever heard of, I paid and signed off on a soft mattress I did not pay and sign off on a firm mattress, pretty easy fix mistakes Are made I called expecting them to replace the firm with the soft that I purchased and got absolutely nowhere with nobody, I’m totally taken back by the service of these people and cannot believe that they are using this bed protector as a reason for not giving me the soft mattress I purchased, no apologies no remorse no customer satisfaction nothing, I was not asking for an upgrade I was not asking for a different brand of mattress also simply was asking for was the soft mattress I paid for and they refused to switch it out now I’m out all this money and a mattress I cannot use at all and nobody will help, they won’t even reach out to me they simply say no bed protector your problem not theirs, I’ve never experienced any kind of service in this manner and I would never recommend these people to anybody, I live with debilitating disabilities as per the reason I purchased the soft mattress and that’s all I asked for is just please give me the soft mattress that I paid for and simply take the firm one back to the store really easy fix they refused to do so and tell me I’m stuck with a purchase that I did not pay for soft versus firm is a big difference especially when you suffer from the disabilities physically that I do it’s a shame that they would treat their customers this way, you would think that they would want to make their customers happy and give them what they paid for to keep their business reputable But they just don’t care, they got their money I got what I didn’t pay for they will not help, warm the mattress up sheets are too tight that’s what they say no bed protector you’re stuck with what we delivered you whether they’re wrong or not they don’t care by your beware do not use...

Please, wake up and smell the coffee, believers in the "claims" of Extreme Mattress Discount!! Anyone with common sense gets this, as clearly stated in another most recent reviewn: you get what you pay for! Always has been, always will. A $399 mattress will clearly not be of the quality nor have the longevity of a $2000 mattress made by a nationally recognized and respected brand!! Most of extreme mattresses products are way off-brand!! They sell mattresses for less, A LOT less, as the guy on the TV commercials states! Exactly!! And good luck with that mattress lasting more than a few years!! But on the other hand their most recent commercial featured a 2 or $3000 mattress, that sold at other mattress stores for thousands more!!?! NOT! Because none of the other national retail chains are selling this off brand mattress!! Lol. This is the same lie as their statement of a couple hundred-dollar mattress is it better value than buying a couple thousand dollar mattress at a national brand mattress store! The spokesman for this mattress store is no more being helpful to you by trying to discredit national brand mattress stores and their pricing, then trying to glorify his lower quality cheaper mattresses!! Or way more expensive off-brand names that have little to no reputation. I have a $1,500 Stearns & Foster (Sealy made) mattress that I bought eight years ago and it is in as good a condition now as it was when I bought it, no body impressions etc. You can buy a $200 or 300 mattress every couple years, cuz that's how long it'll last, or buy a quality couple thousand dollar mattress which will last 10 + years!! Again, you get what you pay for and I feel sorry for those that are duped by companies that sell inferior products but make you feel like you're getting a great quality and true value for some inexpensive inferior...
