Born and raised in Plattsburgh so I use to drive by the house all the time. The last time I visited the Kent Delord house I was just a small child with my mom and Girl Scout troop, and I had the fondest memories. Fast forward 15 years later, I work in the heritage conservation field and decided to have a walk down memory lane in honour of my moms memory and take advantage of the free museum weekend. We had a free tour of the house which was so informative conducted by an army vet who was so knowledge and friendly. They had candle making and black smithing in the garden. House is well cared for and in fact was getting repainted on exterior when I was there. Grounds are well maintained and gardens done by local garden club using flowers and plants known to have been there historically. I was there for about 1.5 hours. I would recommend for adults only.
