I have been a customer of Ashleyâs furniture for years but after my most recent experience with the Plattsburgh location I will take my business elsewhere in future. We made our purchase of a dining room set and 4 piece living room set on August 1st, the salesman said they had everything already made and just needed to transport it from another location and we could expect it within 6-8 weeks of our purchase- this would have been mid September. Nothing was delivered on our delivery date and there was no communication to us regarding a delay or anything. I finally called and a very rude customer service representative told me there was nothing available and everything needed to be made, after speaking with a manager I was told they did in fact have a dining set and 1 of the 4 the living room pieces that was ready to be delivered but they did not want to deliver it in parts because that was inconvenient for them to make multiple trips. I asked that they deliver what they had because we had already gotten rid of our dining furniture in anticipation of the arrival that was originally told to us. I was then told that they are getting the living room set in pieces and the last piece will be sent to us mid October. No one had called to verify my delivery time and it is now mid October so I reached out to them again. This time I was told there would be another delay until mid November. None of this was communicated to me, every time I expect a delivery there is nothing- no furniture and no communication regarding delays. A family member has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has started chemo treatment. I want this person to be as comfortable as possible during treatment. I have been out of work due to the covid 19 pandemic, so I wasnât going to make a huge investment in a headboard. Yet, I was looking for something tasteful that would match our current furniture. My sister and I set out on a mission one afternoon and came across Ashley Outlet on Boyton Ave in Plattsburgh. We found a headboard that fit my criteria and purchased it. When I went back days later to pick it up, it had a huge hole in it. I questioned what had happened? I was told âits sold as isâ very rudely by the girl behind the front desk. Yet, the day before we had look over the headboard and didnât see even a scratch. I asked to speak to the manager/owner I was told âheâs not hereâ. I asked for his name and was told âthe employees are not allowed to give out his nameâ what kind of business is this when you canât have the name of the owner? Most businesses want to make a customer happy to assure their continued business. Please never go to this store Sam Pirofsky is a awful person and gives the other local businesses a bad name.    Read moreThe furniture is great but the manager does not want to work with you. I bought a furniture set that is very nice but it does not work in the space or with the look of the living room. I called and talked with the manager, it was delivered Wednesday while I was at work and on Thursday, the next day right when they opened I called to see if they would work with me. It was not custom pieces and I wanted to replace with a difference piece that was the same price! I would pay for restocking fee and all of the delivery fees because it is not about the money! He said there was nothing they could do! It has not even been 24 hours! He said he told me when we were making the purchase he said "no returns" we could not give back...but this was said when I ASKED the question he did not give up this information willingly. The VT store says they have a 48 hour return policy that lets the customer see how it looks and feel in their home. I think I'm buying my furniture from them! I will be remodeling my house soon and guess I won't stay local for the furniture. To me this is just bad business.
