We had the distinct privilege of working with Melanie and the team at Plattsburgh Flower market to provide the flowers for our wedding at Valcour inn and Boathouse this Summer. The flowers at my wedding were likely the detail that I paid the most attention to and Melanie wound up dealing with countless emails questioning every detail about the centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and even the beautiful petal design they provided for our aisle. Melanie was always kind and responsive and I cannot speak more highly of her patience in answering each and every question about my floral aspirations. However, just days before the wedding due to issues in the floral industry's supply chain it seemed that there would not be enough roses to cover the wedding. Without charging us another dime, Melanie and the team drove all over the Northeast to collect roses from other shops to ensure our special day would go off as we had envisioned. After having made a special trip to the store to inquire about sunflowers for a once in a lifetime special occasion, I ordered and paid for what I wanted after viewing the options. A couple days before the event, all of a sudden, there was "a problem with the grower who could not supply" the number of flowers I'd ordered In the size I'd ordered. Their solution was to substitute smaller, cheap looking alternatives. It felt like bait and switch, but at the last minute, I had no choice but to try to work with what was provided. Our decor was planned for what had been ordered, and everything had to be changed and rearranged last minute. The results looked cheap and tacky. Then, only 2 days after the event, they had the nerve to text a "reminder" to return the buckets they'd provided to bring the flowers to the site.
