This is in response to Jeffrey: When Jeffrey first came into our family-owned and operated business, he approached the cashier asking for food. The cashier pointed him to me, Jonathan, who works in our corporate office. Understanding that times are tough, and seeing his humble approach, we decided to help. I personally prepared him a meal, which he later described as better than he expected. However, the following day he returned repeatedly—literally over a dozen times—asking for more food. Our gesture of kindness was never meant to create a food pantry, and when we declined, he stayed in our shop using our electricity to charge his phone and laptop while browsing the internet. Later, he picked chips off the shelf, sat down, and began eating without paying. Two family members brought this to my attention, and I reluctantly confronted him. When I asked him to pay, he chuckled and delayed. His card declined multiple times before finally going through after several minutes. That same evening, after leaving our store, he went across the street and called for an ambulance, which arrived with a fire truck. Based on the timing and events, it appeared this was done as a way to secure a meal and bed for the night. For transparency, this review was edited from his original post. Our so-called “employees” are in fact family members. We all work extremely long hours, often on very little sleep, to provide the food and service the neighborhood has come to love and appreciate. We believe in supporting our community, and we often go out of our way to help when we can. Unfortunately, Jeffrey chose to take advantage of that generosity and then misrepresented the situation online. We feel it is only fair to share this context with the South Wedge community so people can understand...

Read moreI went to Starlight this week to try the breakfast! I love trying new local places and this was no exception. While I do love good food I am also equally a sucker for a place that is locally owned and also uses local ingredients. I opted for a bacon egg and cheese on a brioche roll - the roll was from a local bakery and it was amazing!! I also got home fries fried crispy with onions and ketchup - a great addition. Keep in mind this is a convenience store so it is convenience store coffee but WOW it smelled and was so good. And then you are able to select from a ton of beverages from their coolers for another option. The wings look amazing so I will certainly be...
