It's not the entire mall that was a problem, certain stores in the mall make it not worth visiting, the main of which is Michael's (craft store) because they treat customers like criminals the instant you walk in the door and will physically take planned purchases out of your hands without even speaking to you first or asking you to hand them the items, the literally snatch them out of your hands and tell you they will hold them at the register until you're ready to pay. If you explain that you pick many items and then decide on your final purchases at the end and return those you're not planning to purchase to the shelves, they immediately assume you're lying and demand that you perform this process in front of them. So in other words, you can't speak to your family/friends who are with you and make decisions on what to purchase and what to put back without someone you don't even know being there not only watching but listening in? What kind of s*%t is that? For someone with severe anxiety, it's impossible to do. I can't imagine looking at customers as they walk in the door and assuming they're there to steal from you without knowing a thing about them or seeing them do anything even remotely suspicious. For those wondering what items these were, thinking they must have been expensive crafting tools or anything of extreme value, they were strands of beads. My teen kids and I have started a business with the goal of donating 5% of all sales to St. Jude Children's Hospital as well as donating bracelets to every patient at St. Jude (something I never even had a chance to explain to the employees)so we buy alot of beads. Between the 3 of us, we were only holding a total of about 20 stands of beads and a package of Swarovski crystals (priced less than $10), which was the most expensive item we were interested in. We were denied the right to carry around less than $40 in planned purchases because the employees AND the management thought we were there to steal. The worst part is, I'd had an incredibly awful day and that shopping trip was to try to help pull me out of a deep depression, because creating things is soothing for me, and instead it made me feel lower than dirt and I even tried to explain that to the cashier when she asked why we were leaving without our purchases and the manager came up with an even worse attitude, was very condescending and just plain mean and because of that, I worry that someone else could hurt themselves or even worse if they have a similar experience and if, God forbid, that were to happen, the management and employees would have nobody but themselves to blame. The world is a difficult enough place as it is with everything else going on around us and all it would take was a little compassion to possibly save someone from going over the edge and you definitely WILL NOT find that inside Michaels store at Clearwater Mall. Unless you enjoy being treated like the scum of the earth, I would avoid this store...
Read moreIt's a decent shopping center. It's nothing spectacular, but there's nothing to be complained about either! There's good stores - Ross, Game Stop, Target, Dollar Tree, Michaels; Costco ( everyone should get a Costco membership! It's so worth it! ), PetSmart ( you can bring your pets in here! ), a couple different shoe stores, Panera bread and Starbucks ( you know, if you're into spending a whole days income on one coffee, then there you go, lol ), Sally's Beauty Supply and conveniently a hair and nail salon right next to it, also an Ulta beauty or whatever ( don't shop there, not really familiar with it ); The Vitamin Shoppe ( My husband and I shop there every month! ), Tires Plus where they do full mechanic work ( I got a great deal there for four new tires when my tax return came in. They were also very cool with me having my dog with me while we waited inside in the a.c. ); a Bank of America ( or at least there use to be a B.O.A. I think that might be the one that closed down and there is now a Wells Fargo in the center instead.. ), a Metro P.C.S.. There's a Lowes, a steak restaurant or bbq & steaks or something meaty like that ( 🤣 ). There's a Joes Crab Shack right across the street! I love crab, lol! So yeah, lots of stores, lots of variety.. If you want to spend the day shopping ( for clothes, shoes, games, art supplies, beauty supplies ) and maybe then getting your hair and nails done, and afterward have a latte, or maybe the guys want to do some manly stuff at Lowes and then go to the barber, check out the latest phones, and finish up by eating some bbq ribs and rare steaks ( 🤣 ) you really can get most everything you need or want right here in the Clearwater Mall Shopping Center. A bus stop ( for public transit ) is right here too (right near Target, so if you need to do some shopping but don't have a vehicle, the bus stop is literally in the Clearwater Mall Shopping Center, so that's...
Read moreMy experience with Clearwater Mall has been pretty good to me. They have Ulta which is full of all the makeup you could ever need! Target is across the lot it has a Starbucks, and has quality clothing, food, and merchandise. When I worked at Ulta I enjoyed my job slightly fairly LOL. Sell, sell, sell! That's what it's all about and I honestly am a more laid-back person and was not too keen on selling products I didn't believe in or were overpriced or were overpriced. I would refer clients to go to Target or Walmart because I found the same products they had but I didn't have a much higher price which I didn't find very fair which is why I'm giving Clearwater Mall for stars. Ross and Burlington coat factory are also located in Clearwater, you can find affordable clothing at these two stores.. mind you the quality is not as nice as Target. If you're looking to get married there is a bridal store too! It has everything a girl would need for her big day! The staff are lovely Skechers always have deals and across from Skechers is Panera bread where you can get very good food Panera unfortunately is overpriced but it is definitely worth it! They also have a nail salon located on the side as well as home Depot, Lowe's, and Costco I think it is. Clearwater Mall definitely has what you need! I just wish it was an enclosed mall like the countryside Mall. Before Clearwater Mall was made it was an enclosed Mall in the 90s they even had a Sears and JCPenney also a Gayfers! So if you need to buy a nice outfit, pair of shoes, or a bite to eat definitely head over to Clearwater Mall. Parking is also pretty good so you don't have to worry about not finding a spot! Enjoy Clearwater...
