Update: The store manager contacted us after the review and was VERY compassionate and sympathetic to the situation. He sent us an Amazon card for just taking the call. He invited me to come to the store to repair the band in the same visit. I was informed that the worker that used the hurtful words towards us is no longer employees as she did not reflect the values of the company and had treated others the same. I truly believe they want to turn the experience around.
My (now) husband and I were told to make BW James our first stop when we started our engagement ring search in March of 2020. Obviously, this was a wild time so we take this into account. I chose a rose gold ring and he was told it would take quite some time to get that in due to COVID-19 when he went back to purchase in June. He chose a different ring, proposed, then we went back to choose a band. I should also add that my great-grandmother gave me a ring of hers that could be modified into something for me. When we went to the store, they told me that the diamonds could not be used due to size and quality and the gold was “not worth using in anything because of poor quality.” When we didn’t see anything we fell in love with that day, we went to Markman’s in Knoxville after a friend referred us to get one more opinion. We learned that my engagement ring was sized an entire size smaller than what was on the order form we had from when my husband ordered it and that’s why it fit so snugly, not because “my fingers had swollen.” We chose a band that day and they corrected my engagement ring free of charge for me. I do not wear my ring in the pool, I take it off when I’m working, and the white gold is already tinting yellow. My band from Markman’s, that is white gold as well, is in perfect quality. I took the gold from my grandmother’s band to another local store, Sliger’s Jewelers in Athens, and in a week he had made me a beautiful gold band with no problems and I left extremely happy.

Read moreThe folks from B.W. James went above and beyond to help me get an engagement ring for my fiancé. I called a couple of days before coming into the store, and they were already sending me pictures and videos of options that fit my budget before I ever stepped foot in the shop. They never once tried to convince me to spend more than I had initially stated I was willing to spend. They even opened the store early for me, and had breakfast waiting!
Furthermore, I told them I was shopping a few different places, which they understood, and they were actually very helpful in comparing quality and prices. I felt like after all was said and done, I knew a great deal more about diamonds, and I was positive I made the right choice (especially considering the lifetime warranty!).
They had the diamond set that day, and I had the ring in my possession by the end of the business day. I cannot say enough about how great they were to work with, and they've continued to be great in the follow-up since purchasing the ring. They even posted about our engagement on their Facebook and Instagram pages!

It's The Moonshiner, we got married in January and he is a driver, doesn't work construction or anything and from everyday life it was already cracked all the way thru and is no chipping all the sealant away over the wood grain and looks awful. I emailed multiple times, received no reply. I called and was told with the warranty they would replace it once...but that is it. They then told me it was a different store that handled online orders and they would call me the next day, that was 2 weeks ago. DO NOT BUY their wedding bands, terrible quality and poor customer service.
UPDATE: After I logged in and made this review, within an hour or so I had emails for resolution. I am still disheartened that it took this to get their attention after multiple emails and phone calls but the owner was very kind and assured me follow up training with his locations woild be taking place to ensure this doesn't happen to any other customers.
