This place is not worth the rent, save your sanity and go somewhere else. Here's a factual list of the issues we've encountered in our ten months here:
• constant noise from the restaurants on the street. For some reason they also have external facing speakers playing the same 10 songs on repeat. If you care about noise pollution, avoid this whole area but especially this building - the windows are cheap and do nothing for the noise. • the 5th floor roof patios are not worth it. What they don't tell you is that all the A/C condensers are up there and instead of a relaxing spot, you have constant machine noise • if you have a dog, definitely avoid this building. The restaurants and houses nearby set off fireworks from street level which end up exploding a little over the fifth floor and rattle the windows and dishes. • speaking of rattle, the floors are not level and there's an inch of a gap in every corner between the floor and siding. Also, when you merely walk around the living room, any dishes in the sink rattle🤦♂️ • the windows leak air, which is obviously great in the Cleveland winter • we once woke up to the heat not working in the middle of winter. The entire floor was affected. • the dishwasher in this 2-3 year old unit also broke down • the washing machine also locked us out • on the topic of appliances, the kitchen smoke detector is installed incorrectly in every unit in this building. It's too close to the oven (I checked the manufacturer's install guide), so preheating, frying or really anything involving burning gas is prone to setting it off, in your unit and every neighbor's. Just when you thought you figured it out, it will go off, freaking out every dog on the floor (and probably some humans) • the blinds are flimsy and see through so when they clean the windows you have absolutely no privacy. You'll also hear when your neighbors upstairs or downstairs make any changes to their blinds because of how loud the mechanism is. • forget about the gym, it's right next to the garbage room and the smell in that whole area is nausea inducing in the summer and pretty significant the rest of the year • they had a bunch of units on Airbnb which were consistently used for parties. It wasn't until we complained and called the cops a few times that they increased the minimum stay duration to discourage this use • we've called the cops more times in the past 10 months than in the previous 4 years combined. Make of that what you will • sometimes, out of nowhere, you get surprise smells in your laundry room. Weed is a common one. Bonfire wood burning is another. Hope you didn't leave any clean clothes in there! • the ramp to the garage was an ice slide the first time it snowed and stayed that way for two days
If it was just a couple of things, sure, that's just apartment life. The combination of the prices they ask, the number of issues and the general quality you get is why I'd give this building zero...
Read moreWe are enjoying our stay here at La Collina, and this is our third month here. It is a brand new apartment complex, and I believe it is going to get better in the upcoming months. Melissa (property manager) is fantastic; she tries her best to accommodate your requests. Mike (supervisor) is excellent. Overall, its management and courteous staff, that makes it an exceptional place to stay! Everything below is additional The location is vibrant and refreshing; justifies a bit pricey rental. Shopping/dining/Gym/University/Cemetery - located 5 mins (walking) away. We watched our 4th of July fireworks from the apartment (great views), and the feast is refreshing. It can get overly noisy if you have kids. Appliances are brand new; includes everything in the unit (washer, dryer..etc). Broadband service is fast and good (not included) Parking is indoor; we also have the bike racks which is awesome The lounge is well decorated. We always have fresh coffee and snacks. The patio on the 2nd floor is an excellent place to throw in a party or hang out with friends and family No hassle with package delivery. The staff would accept the packages during the work hours, and after-hours you could let in the delivery personnel and give access to freinds and family remotely via phone, which is cool
Looking forward to the following: -We have a recycling room; it would be great if we could have a bin or a chute on the floor for recyclable items -Would need a gym in the complex

Read moreThe La Collina is a beautiful apartment. I moved in 3 months ago, and having looked at many places all over the city, I am so happy I chose to live here. The size of the apartments is fantastic and the kitchens are very spacious. The only complaint I have is the gym. Since moving in, the smell in the gym from the nearby trash room has been unbearable to the point where I have been unable to use the gym. I am hoping at some point they fix this with heavy duty air filters, but be prepared that the gym might...
