Came here before a game for a glass of wine and appetizers. They don't have the best happy hour specials so don't hang your hat on getting a good deal here.
But the location! Oh my word... it's been beautifully restored & decorated- with clear glass doors at the back giving you stunning views of the Ohio Theater. The ornate detail throughout, including the ceilings, is worth the visit alone.
I was a huge fan of their House Cabernet though - and for $5, it was a score. My only gripe is that when I asked for a second glass (before I was finished with my first) instead of pouring me a new glass or bringing it in a decanter, the 'tender just poured into my glass and only refilled it to a regular pour level! For literally being a wine bar, this was incredibly irritating.
Their flatbreads are delicious and I was BIG fan of the BBQ Chicken option. We also got the chicken sliders which had potential but the sauce was suuuuuper salty & likely wouldn't get again.
All in all, it's a great stop in Playhouse Square and the location is stunning. Will definitely be back and hope to be able update my review to five stars...
Read moreMy daughter and I stopped there before the show for the first time. We sat at the bar close to the outside door. The bar counter top is too short so you have to lean forward quite a bit to eat. There is no where to hang you purse and not quite enough room to place near you. Even women around complained about the same as soon as they sat down. We ordered the crab cakes and creme brulee. Two people that sat after us received their food way before any one asked us if we had received ours. When we finally did get our food the cab cakes were good but the creme brulee was horrible! All you tasted was sugar, in fact you felt the texture of the sugar in your mouth and did not even taste the flavor of the creme brulee at all. The top tasted burnt. We took a bite each and could not take another. The daughter is a pasty chef so we know how its suppose to taste. The server never checked on us or asked how everything was. The place was not super busy, there were several empty chairs. We just asked for our check and left. We will...
Read moreFood was mediocre. The service was slow, and the atmosphere was nice. We went for dinner before the theater. And they got our food out in time, which was nice. However, at the end, we vallet our car in front of their restaurant, and we couldn't get into our car after the play, they would not let us wait in the building. We had to wait outside in the cold. It was 21°, maybe even colder. What's wrong with people. What's more important than three 60+ ladies that had to sit outside in the cold to wait for their car to open because the key fob did not work., or your private party that no one was there...
