I've been to other Yours Truly's, so I decided to check this one out as well. That was a big mistake. First off, the service here is incredibly slow. I'm glad we had 2 hours before our show at Playhouse and had time to kill. The table we were sat at could only be described as incredibly small, and it literally just sat in the hallway next to the bathroom. You know, prime seating for a night out. Do not be fooled by the nice entrance. You most likely will not sit there. Also, our appetizer and entrees salads everything came out at once. This table is very tiny it could barely hold everything, and to beat all the servers never came by to pick up dishes, so we were left playing Jenga with dishes, so we had room to eat. The food was fine, not great, not bad. You can find way better steps away from this place. Yes, this place is cheap for downtown. But you're in downtown live it up a little. The drink here was called clevelands finest, and it was truly awful it's their take on a n okd fashioned, you know, a pretty save drink. It had seeds in it. They crushed and orange and cherry into it and did not strain out the seeds. It was not fun drinking something and having to pick seeds out of your mouth. It's also a choking hazard. So drink here at your own risk. When I say it had seeds, I'm saying like 6 to 8 in it. Now go to any other Yours Truly they're great, in fact this experience made me want to go to another just to experience a good one. One last thing as well the notso fries there version of loaded cheese fries was cold. The cheese was hard and cold. The pictures on this review make it look way better than it was. Just try somewhere else in the playhouse district for a good meal. Naturally, this being downtown, there is not dedicated parking for it, so you will either have to do street parking or a...
Read moreI went here with my mom and dad to eat before my flight home. We came with two hours to spare thinking that that’s a good amount of time for a quick sit down meal. We went to the bar and ordered a few drinks. I asked for iced tea, mom got wine, and dad was just drinking tap beer. She was quick off the bat w their drinks but did forget mine and took about 10 min. My mom said her wine was the wrong one so she argued with her then proceeded to make her deal w the wrong wine. Then after that she refused to make eye contact with us, just being extremely hostile. We asked another waiter to help us and when they said sure they disappeared too. We had ordered food when we ordered drinks to be safe and at this point it’s been an hour and a half of no service nothing so we ask for a manager and say we need to leave. We came here for me to eat since I was starving before my flight and not only did they waste our time and were so incredibly rude, they made us pay for all the drinks we got still and asked if I wanted my food cuz it was actually done just sitting there since our waitress refused to bring it out. Made no sense. Me and my whole family have worked in the hospitality industry and appreciate the hard work that goes into it but as people who worked in it, we will not tolerate an environment of hostility, disrespect, and pure ignorance of a staff. You not only ruined what was supposed to be a great going away lunch that left me pacing to the airport and starving still. 0 stars if I could. I have no remorse for places that can treat...
Read moreI completely understand that we are in a time where restaurants are short-staffed, waits are long, and everyone is stressed. I am keeping that in mind as I write this review.
Yesterday some friends and I went to Yours Truly prior to seeing a show at Playhouse. The restaurant is in a very nice location right across the street from Playhouse so you can get in, eat, and get to your show on time.
However, yesterday's experience, which continued until today, will force me to find another restaurant for at least another year when hopefully this covid experience is over. Our orders were taken quickly, but when they were received, three of the four orders were incorrect. I for example asked for no sour cream on my mushroom and onion burger and instead I received a double serving of onion and a lot of sour cream. My sister-in-law received the same burger with the same issues. Neither of us had mushrooms. No one came to check in on our food at all and by the time someone came by, and the error was reported, that person did not bring mushrooms back for another 15 minutes.
The one meal that was prepared to order unfortunately cause my sister to have some food poisoning. So all four of us left with a negative view of the restaurant.
As I have been to this location before I know this is not the norm for the restaurant. However I would ask the restaurant owners to maybe staff only half of the tables cuz it would be better to give all of the customers a better experience then all of the customers a mediocre to...
