Early the morning of my stay, my parents and I and my 17 year old son were on the way to Cody, when my son suddenly had a medical emergency and we literally had to call him an ambulance on the side of the road. He ended up at the hospital for the better part of the day before finally being released. I spoke with the manager at this location prior to our check-in time and explained our situation and even offered to email him documentation from the hospital just so he knew I wasn't trying to pull a fast one. He was completely cold about it all and said he'd still be charging me. I realize properties have time limits on cancellations, but sometimes there are genuine events that have to considered case-by-case. This was definitely one of those events. Ironically, the hotel I had scheduled the following night, while also outside their cancellation time limit, the owner I spoke with completely understood the situation and allowed me to cancel without being charged. That's the decent thing to do in this situation. Even Travelocity contacted Buffalo Village Cabins to try and intervene on my behalf considering it was a medical emergency and even they said they had no luck at all with the manager. Needless to say, I don't need to spend any further money on this Buffalo Bill Village Cabins going forward.
