Planet Fitness — Attraction in Colonial Heights

I have been going to planet fitness for the past couple of months. 3 times I have had to call from the tanning beds to tell them they needed to set the beds to come on. Trash on floor. Some employees very rude. Now today I had earlier lunch break so i decided i could run in and tan quickly, I scanned in and was given a room number. I walked down hall and that rooms door was closed and looked to be in use. I went back to the desk and asked for a different room and the reason why, it was a different employee and told me I needed to wait 14 min because it had not been exactly 24 hours. I was just given a room and now I need to wait. So I waited. I went to the room and again i had to call the front desk from my cell because they didnt set the bed to start. When I went to leave I asked about the time issue. I said I would have an earlier lunch time tomorrow and was told sorry new policy with an eye roll. After the attitude, trash on floor and now a new policy I decided this was not a good fit. I asked to cancel my membership. I was told that they would consider today my last day. Actually I paid for a month a week ago but with the trash on the floor and attitudes of employees I didnt want to come back. I had been warned about this place but I wanted to make my own opinion. I drove across the street and signed up at a different gym. They have enough employees at planet fitness but they are always standing around. Very disappointed. Too many gyms in a 5 mile radius to be like this. On my cancelation form I was emailed it stated reason for leaving was I didnt have time for it and that wasn't the truth. Rude staff member tonight. I have been a member of planet fitness since 2016, I went to scan in both counter people were speaking to other people I went to scan in and when I did, I was told woah I was helping this lady out and I was like oh ok I just wanted to scan in, the girl said ok are you having a good day? I said yes I’m fine, she was like ok well enjoy your workout sweety very rudely. As I was leaving she said ohhh it’s raining be safe out there driving then started to laugh, so I turned to the other girl and asked her when was my membership up, the other girl Tina Marie said oh I can help you, I said I want to speak with Tiffany not you, she said to Tiffany her name is Katharine Hernandez I had to correct her. She was very condescending and rude. I have never had an issue at any of the gyms at planet fitness and I travel from NJ to VA religiously and never had a bad experience. I asked Tiffany for the GMs name and she gave me her name but if I wanted to talk to her I would have to wait til Monday? Then the Tina lady started saying we got you on camera we got you on camera I said ok and you keep addressing me when I clearly stated I don’t want to deal with you. I can’t say enough good things about this Planet Fitness and the incredible experience I’ve had there. When I first walked in, I had no idea where to start or what to do. I heard that planet fitness offered the Design Your Own Plan and I setup an appointment. That’s when Somone stepped in and completely changed everything for me. She personally designed a workout plan tailored to my goals and took the time to show me each exercise, making sure I understood the proper form and technique.

Her knowledge and encouragement helped me lose weight and tone up — I couldn’t have gotten these results without her help! She is an invaluable and irreplaceable asset at this location, who is warm, friendly, supportive but also driven, dedicated and willing to go above and beyond to help people like me reach their fitness goals.

The facilities are always clean and well-maintained, which makes working out so much more enjoyable. The staff is friendly and hardworking, always making sure everything runs smoothly. The variety of classes available is also a huge bonus — it keeps things interesting and helps me stay motivated.
