I have been staying at this hotel for almost 5 weeks. Absolute scam of a hotel. If you are a DOD customer- stay away! First and foremost- there is a CDC directive in this area for a MANDATORY MASK at all times while inside. Rarely have I seem any of these employees wearing a mask. Literally- standing at the front desk and they come out of the back without a mask and have no regards for staff or guest safety- This is not an option and they treat it with total disregard although they have the "extended stay" issued signs up all over the hotel. Although you will pay the same per diem rate as the other large hotels- they will not tell you until about three days after you check in that your room will not be cleaned more than once a week. 5 weeks and my room has been cleaned three times- twice it was done halfway and then they seemed to not care about finishing after their lunch break and disappeared. Then- if your random day pops up- its a crap shoot whether they will actually clean it as the housekeeping staff is tremendously understaffed. Other-medium-sixed items of concern: they don't have a service elevator. Why is this important? Well in this hotel- because they obviously want to make their own jobs as easy as possible- they have "trash rooms" on each floor. These are not emptied regularly. When they are emptied- the staff hauls out the over stuffed bags and garbage down through the guest elevators which leaves a superb smell and sticky drip ridden floor in the elevator. It smells like a fast food restaurant dumpster here. I physically watched for over two minutes a staff member walking up and down the hall next to the trash room spraying some sort of spray while trying not to dry heave from the smell. The carpet is covered in drip skid-marks and the whole place seems to be in some sort or repair everywhere you go. Breakfast- nope. Never available. Coffee? If you are into two day old ice cold and chunky coffee- this is your place. When I asked about the coffee I was told by the person that seems to be the most in charge during the day that she has been drinking it and it should be fine. Awesome. The Virginia required No Smoking signs are present at the front and rear lobby doors. Somehow this doesn't seem to deter the staff from sitting right in the doorway and enhancing their work experience via nicotine. When asked if they would move away from the door- eyes are rolled and they walked 10 feet away and then waited for me to board the elevator and came right back. I popped my head back out and looked curiously and sure enough right back in the doorway. ||I am honestly considering submitting the DD Form to the Defense Travel System to have them removed as an option from government travel. This is just simply unacceptable as I sit here on a stay that is going to run...
Read moreThis hotel is perfect for long stays. It is pet friendly and there is a small fitness center (elliptical, treadmill and an exercise bike). The laundry room had several like new washers and dryers.
At the lobby, the hotel provides free hot coffee, oatmeal packets and muffins. They also have tea packets and hot cocoa for the guests.
The room is huge with a king size bed and a small kitchen (small electric range, microwave, large refrigerator, coffee maker). I requested cooking pots and utensils so I can make my breakfast in the room. This helped me cut down my spending but not eating out for every meal. The t.v. had a lot of great channels. The wifi was good for browsing and email but if you want faster internet, you can purchase a low cost plan by the day, week or month.
It was a great stay. Although I made some of my meals, I did visit the nearby restaurants. This hotel is at a prime location as there are several restaurants within walking distance. It was easy to grab a drink and walk back to the hotel. There is a grocery store (Aldis) right next door. It was very convenient.
Lastly, the management and customer service was great (Robin and Tony). They are extremely friendly and willing to help. I put in a review through their company site and I receive a quick response back. They acknowledge my concerns and were interested in my feedback. I would definitely stay here again in the future because the customer service...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting hotel and location. Do NOT stay here. Parking lot is loaded with homeless and drug users all hours of the night. Completely concerned for our safety while walking our dog. You’ll need to carry a concealed weapon in this part of town for sure. Afraid our vehicle was going to get broken into all night long. Loud rap music at 2am while they got high in parking lot. Staff didn’t care, room was filthy dirty, not vacuumed, floors never mopped, half used toilet paper roll on floor under vanity so no one cleaned bathroom floor or they’d have found that. Look at the photo of the masking tape on wall holding up the corner molding. Between the PTAC and window, window rotted and wall disintegrating. Shower gross and dirty. Mismatched paint all over walls in entire room because the fixtures had been ripped from the walls and no one can patch at all and instead threw up any paint shade they felt was close enough. Microwave filthy, no blowdryer in room, piles of Sheetrock dust from wall “repairs” on floors and never dusted or vacuumed. Praying we don’t bring bed bugs home from here. Would’ve left but it was late at night and had dog traveling with us and didn’t know the area at all. Do NOT stay here unless you’re looking to spend -$185w/dog ($160 no dog) for one night - for the equivalent of a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn type facility in a shady area with homeless begging for money and drug...
