Went here yesterday for Veterans Day with my vet. It was not my first time but it surely will be my last. I have been to this location multiple times, hoping that the various inconsistencies and lack of quality that are the opposite of what I've grown to love with Longhorn would improve after the first opening months. This has not been the case. Yesterday the establishment wasnt very busy when we arrived approx 12pm, for lunch. We met with our server and mentioned the promotion for the day. One in which I did not expect to need him to be reminded of at the end of service. We ordered our appetizer of the T'onion bites. I was not a fan of the horseradish based sauce that accompanied them so I requested ranch. Our server did not bring the ranch until we were nearly done with the app. Vet orders bacon burger, the bacon was severely burnt, and this is an understatement. It basically crumbled out of the burger into ash upon first bite. He was disappointed. His fries were also so heavily seasoned they were inedible, and this is a man who RARELY has issue clearing a plate. I ordered flat iron steak, medium rare with asparagus and extra prairie dust on the side. Once again, I had to request this seasoning after my food arrived to table, it took over 10 mins to get it. Server barely had 3 tables but I did notice he seemed to show those tables preference and I regretfully have to assume it is bc he preferred to serve those of his same race over ourselves. He was much more attendant to them and friendly. I digress, my asparagus was strange, charred and burnt but yet underdone inside. Grill must've been too hot. Only upside was steak was cooked to temp. Finally we ask for the check. This took 15 mins to receive. Then we noticed server did not apply promotional discount for the holiday, had to ask for adjustment which took another 15 mins. Then payment and return for signature, another 10 mins. It seemed as though it took longer to pay and leave than it did for us to eat. Again, this server only had approx 3 tables and seemed to be delivering to the others at lightening speed. The worst of it all is we both ended up with terribly painful stomach aches within a couple hours of leaving.
This was a very disappointing experience for such a highly priced chain restaurant and in the end we have decided we will no longer patronize this establishment. One negative experience too many. In the future id encourage your staff that if there is a promotion for veterans and military servicemen and women going on for the day it is more than uncomfortable to ask for that promotion to be applied to the bill multiple times. The manager was also rather grey and didn't seem to smile one bit while running and delivering dishes for his servers. Very very...
Read moreThe food was mostly very good. The only problem was that the asparagus was a little mushy and my wife's ribeye was not medium it was well done. No disaster. The only other problem we had was that we were told we get a side and a salad and so the waitress asked each of us what side we wanted until we got our sides and asked for a salad and she said well you can get a side instead of salad and we're like okay and so two of us ordered the salads and then one ordered an extra side which comes with the entree. So when the check came every one of the sides even the double side was extra the waitress did not mention that oh if you look at the menu and look down below you will see the normal cheap sides that come with the entree and not the expensive sides with an upcharge that are right next to the quote you get a free side and a salad. So that sort of put us off a little bit because obviously this is really clever marketing to get a customer and their table to spend more money at Longhorn but in the long run does it really help because we will not be going back to the longhorn and we will be letting people know to not go back to this Longhorn or if they go to any Longhorn to make sure they read the menu like a fine print law degree and understand that go all the way down and find what size are free and what size are at enough charge because you will not get, based on our experience, the advice to think about whether you're going to pay five six or seven dollars more for a side order that you thought was free. Again the food was very tasty my friend's steak was done perfectly and my ground steak was done very just as I ordered and I think the asparagus was pretty much on point it was just a tiny bit soft which is no big deal actually. The street corn was awesome I would definitely order that again even with the up charge. Our wishes was fine she did her job the best she could and I don't want to be critical of her. We did ask for a salad for one person and that never came and then when the waitress came back we said can we get the salad? And she said sure So the salad never actually came even after asking a second time after my wife had already eaten her side salad. So I'm not sure why one side salad that's exact same thing as the other person's side salad would not come out. It's kind of weird. Anyway we won't be coming back to this particular Longhorn again. But they did nothing terribly wrong. They were friendly and pretty attentive we only had to ask for water a couple of times to be refilled and when the waitress asked if she could take my water that was half-filled away from me when the dinner came I said no I would like to drink that with my...
Read moreDue to Longhorn food and service; it is no longer my favorite place to eat. Ordered by phone and went inside to pick it up about 5 min before the time they said it would be ready. Had a young lady working the register and she explained that it wasn’t ready yet. So I had a seat to wait. Meanwhile another gentleman walks up to place an order. About 10 min had passed of me waiting. She goes to the back and brings out a bag and sit it on the counter; then proceeds to take his order. After taking his order now she’s ready to check me -out. Why you let me sit and wait for my food for someone who came after me and had not placed an order?. Anyway, after checking the bag I asked where was the bread? She said we don’t have any more out of the oven. Literally all she said and walked away. One of the reasons I love Longhorn is for the good bread, and it has always came with every meal. Why not ask me if I want to wait for the bread? Anyway I asked to speak with the manager. While waiting about 5 min I see a waiter come out and pass bread out to 2 tables. I saw the same lady walk by and told her I see you do have bread. Her response was “we didn’t have any before and I didn’t see them bring it out. If you want bread I will get you bread when I return.” Meanwhile I had to ask another waiter for a manager. He finally comes out and introduce himself, shake my hand and sit down with me to listen. He offered to give me bread with extra butter. I extra butter. Nothing special because I always ask for an extra bead and get it. As for the employee he said he would speak with her because she should have gave me the opportunity to wait for the bread. I don’t have time for this place anymore. I spend too much money in there only to receive sub-par service and food. One other time I was there the asparagus was overcooked and my daughter-in-law broccoli was undercooked. My husband’s steak was tough today. Haven’t eaten mine yet; which is a sirloin. Texas Road House...
