Quail Lake is a nice park. There are quite a few outdoor activities you can do here. Bring your family and friends with all the kids, and, of course, fido too! Just be sure to bring the leash and poop bags! I can say everyone will find something they can enjoy here. Whether it is fishing from the shore or in your canoe, or maybe just floating around on your raft or paddle boarding, this small lake has lots to offer. If fishing isn't your thing, then you can choose to go hiking on the many trails that surround the lake. Don't forget to pack a picnic too and enjoy eating at the many picnic tables around the lake. There is also a playground for the little people in your group. And if none of that sounds appealing, well then just bring a lawn chair and find one of the many little hidden coves to just sit and read a book. There's plenty of free parking, and if you don't have a ride, the lake is easy to get to using the city bus. Read moreI love it there! I hadn't been out there since 2012 -2013 and I honestly don't remember the walk around the lake being that far lol. Maybe it's because I'm out of shape lol. But it's beautiful, peaceful and the ducks love to hang around and see if you're going to give them a snack. A lot of high school graduates have their prom pictures taken there. The parking lot is a bit tricky if you ask me. Quite narrow to drive through so if you have a big vehicle, I suggest parking on the street. But even with the small parking lot it's perfect for a stroll or fishing or just meditating. It's not like going to a "traditional" lake where it's noisy. You don't hear anyone talking, just peace and quiet except for the occasional quack from the ducks or the chirping of the baby quail that are nested in the cattails. And you'd be amazed at how fresh the air is! It smells like the pines and just good ole fresh air . It's definitely some place I'm sure you'll be glad you visited. I'll ad pictures the next time I go which wiil hopefully be...
