Quail Lake is a nice park. There are quite a few outdoor activities you can do here. Bring your family and friends with all the kids, and, of course, fido too! Just be sure to bring the leash and poop bags! I can say everyone will find something they can enjoy here. Whether it is fishing from the shore or in your canoe, or maybe just floating around on your raft or paddle boarding, this small lake has lots to offer. If fishing isn't your thing, then you can choose to go hiking on the many trails that surround the lake. Don't forget to pack a picnic too and enjoy eating at the many picnic tables around the lake. There is also a playground for the little people in your group. And if none of that sounds appealing, well then just bring a lawn chair and find one of the many little hidden coves to just sit and read a book. There's plenty of free parking, and if you don't have a ride, the lake is easy to get to using the city bus. So come and enjoy, but one word of advice, there are wild animals around, besides the many deer, rabbits, and birds, you can on a rare occasion run into a bear or bobcat. Just keep your eyes and ears open. Mostly just come and...

I love it there! I hadn't been out there since 2012 -2013 and I honestly don't remember the walk around the lake being that far lol. Maybe it's because I'm out of shape lol. But it's beautiful, peaceful and the ducks love to hang around and see if you're going to give them a snack. A lot of high school graduates have their prom pictures taken there. The parking lot is a bit tricky if you ask me. Quite narrow to drive through so if you have a big vehicle, I suggest parking on the street. But even with the small parking lot it's perfect for a stroll or fishing or just meditating. It's not like going to a "traditional" lake where it's noisy. You don't hear anyone talking, just peace and quiet except for the occasional quack from the ducks or the chirping of the baby quail that are nested in the cattails. And you'd be amazed at how fresh the air is! It smells like the pines and just good ole fresh air . It's definitely some place I'm sure you'll be glad you visited. I'll ad pictures the next time I go which wiil hopefully be...

Quail Lake, located on the Westside of Colorado Springs, is a true gem that never fails to impress. The beauty of this lake can be seen in every season. During the summer, it's a great place to paddle board, kayak, set up a hammock, or simply relax and take in the breathtaking views. The water is clean, and the surroundings are peaceful and serene.

As the fall arrives, the trees surrounding the lake start to turn into beautiful shades of orange, yellow, and red. This is the perfect time to take a walk around the lake and enjoy the stunning colors. The cool breeze and fresh air are invigorating, and the scenery is simply breathtaking.

Quail Lake is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and wants to experience the beauty of Colorado Springs. The lake offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and is a great place to unwind and relax. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and...

Good place for recreation, paddle boarding, fishing. Need license for fishing and non motorized boats. Has Porta lets for bathrooms. Not sure about handwriting stations. Clean and tidy. Has a dirt trail around about 85 to 90% of the lake but at a certain point the dirt trail end right into a parking lot so this breaks the flow. You can also cut from the trail onto sidewalk and this goes around the park continuously. Some decent inclines for running. Would make for a very short bike path given its only about 8/10 of a mile or so around the whole place. One parking lot right by the water is tiny so end up parking on street. Other lot down the road, next to the lake, but same property is next to a large grassy area and playground. Don't know if I would revisit for a workout because of how short the course is but certainly good for water recreations. The "beach" is naturally just dirt, so plan for a lot of mud.

(Awareness) Multiple cars broke into while jogging around the lake around 6:45 a.m. on Friday 27 OCT 23. Over 1,500 dollars worth of personal items and military equipment were stolen from my vehicle. I believe the thieves were watching our group, probably knew we were military, and waited until we were out of sight. Unfortunately, the Police would not visit the location to take our reports. One of my partners had an air tag in his bag and we sent this information to the police. The house was down the street in a low-income area; no action was taken. I’ve never experienced a vehicle break-in, learn from my mistake in not becoming complacent with Colorado Springs “beautiful” areas… be prepared to protect yourself as no one is going to help you. A thug who is desperate enough to break into your vehicle probably has nothing to lose and will likely make other reckless decisions.
