For example it doesn't matter if you're into cardio, weightlifting, swimming, spinning, running, or cross-fit because there's something for everyone. Not only does the YMCA have a variety of equipment, but it's also the newest equipment on the market. This is not only the latest and greatest equipment, but it's also laid out perfectly throughout the Downtown YMCA of Columbia, South Carolina. I have been to several other YMCAs, but none compare to the Downtown YMCA of Columbia, South Carolina. No other training facilities or gyms can compete with the Downtown YMCA of Columbia, South Carolinas equipment, equipment cleanliness, employee professionalism, facility cleanliness, or overall facility as a whole.

Also all employees at the Downtown YMCA of Columbia, South Carolina are prompt, professional, courteous, and tactful. Every employee at the Downtown YMCA of Columbia, South Carolina went above and beyond for me. The Downtown YMCA of Columbia, South Carolina has a welcoming atmosphere that leaves the customer wanting to come back time and time again.

The overall cleanliness of the Downtown YMCA of Columbia, South Carolina is above average from other YMCAs I have been to as well.

I registered 2 children in spring soccer and wish I had not. I had to pay in advance before knowing practise details, and they deliberately put the no-refund date FOUR weeks before the coaches even met to form teams and set schedules. I had to transfer to NorthEast when downtown could not accomodate, and then they changed one of our practise times without telling us. I showed up with my 7-yr-old to the first practise that was over. It may work for those who have only one child, a super flexible schedule, and nothing else to do but spend money on maybe's, but I wouldn't recommend the organization as they are NOT organized. I had to beg for the registration money back, and they made it seem like they were doing me a favor by refunding the money for services they never provided. We won't bother with YMCA recreational...

This YMCA has very poor Administration. I cancelled my membership over a Month ago, & for some reason they STILL pulled a payment from my checking account. I spoke with the new director (Jodi Watson) & she's quite incapable and incompetent. I was only refunded 50% of what they wrongfully took. I reached back out a SECOND time and Jodi Watson completely ignored me and would not respond to my emails.

The guys at the gym are pretty friendly, but the staff can be very "Nice Nasty".

The Sauna & Steam Room are ALWAYS broken. I've been a member of much better maintained Y's. This is the absolute WORST!!! Don't Join! Go...
