Walked across the street from the Robert Mills House & Garden and was greeted by this stunning home! Free gardens and grounds access during the day as stated at the sign at the entrance gate! So peaceful and stunningly put together. Coming from someone not from the South Carolina area, it was wonderful to see a variety of species native to SC as well as some unique selections as well! Plenty of benches to sit and rest, especially with the tree canopy providing shade. Street parking was easy, accessible and free! The restoration of the home was beautiful. I visited on a Friday morning and it was very quiet and not busy. Highly suggest visiting...

Just a beautiful garden for the public to enjoy! We visited in late winter so not all of the perennials were back nor were certain flowers in bloom, yet. But they have tons of native trees, shrubs, flowers, and plants, as well as unique specimens available in our area. Most trees, plants, and shrubs are marked with staked signs to let you know the specific type. Looking forward to going back in mid-Spring when all the plants being showing off their full beauty! Highly recommend the...

We had our nieces baby shower in the carriage house of the Robert Mills House. Prior to the shower as a special thank you to all the attendees we purchased tickets for them to tour both the RMH and HPM. It was absolutely wonderful!! The staff made everyone feel special and Heather continuously checked in on our event to make sure everything was up to our standards!!! What a beautiful experience for our new parents to be and their guests!! Thank you to everyone that made our experience...

We enjoyed our visit to the grounds. They do not have daily hours, only certain days. Lots of information on the evils of slavery to be found here. Slightly more difficult to find however, is what kind of tree it is that we're looking at. It would be great if they could cover both at least. I'm sure that had we been able to visit on a day that they are open we would have learned more. Grateful that the grounds are open to view even if the tours don't run every day.

I once lived in Columbia historic district where my home was only around 10 minutes walk to those historic buildings such as the Hampton Mansion. Travellers can join a guided tour provided by Historic Columbia to visit this mansion, Robert Mills house and Woodrow family house, etc, although the price is a little high, about $10 for each place. All these places are well preserved. Moreover, those stories from the past are awaiting their listeners.
