Nice store, very organized BUTā¦. Walked in to get my engagement ring resized (didnāt buy from Jared) and had a short wait to have the doors opened for me. Younger lady sat me down and discussed sizing with me and I informed her that my ring was not bought from Jared, rather an online store me and my fiance had done extensive research on. She then goes to take my ring to test the stone on it. (Not sure why you canāt just test the metal since thatās the part that is having the work done on itā¦) anyways she comes back and informs me my 2,800$ ring is infact moissanite and they cannot size a moissanite ring⦠so this immediately threw my for a loop because I knew my ring was not moissanite but a lab grown diamond. My fiance is serving the military and wanted to get me a decent size ring so he opted for the lab grown instead of natural. I had a mini heart attack over the thought my fiance had been scammed from this website!! But no I was wrong, and so was Jared and this sales associate. About 30 minutes later I was having my ring tested at Reeds in the mall to find out that it was in fact a lab grown diamond just like he bought (not by a dumb tester but by reading the inscription of certification on the girdle of the stone). Now let me get to my real grievance, this associate at Jared only used her diamond tester (in which she called over another employee during this time) and failed to read the inscription on the girdle on my diamond. Now is this her fault? Iām not sure, her training could be lacking perhaps, not only her training on stones but also in customer service. After 10 minutes of checking what my diamond was, she came over and told me it was moissanite and finished with āitās a beautiful wrong, thoughā as if it was a bad thing even if I did have a moissanite ring. Our band came from my fiancé's grandmother and therefore was very special to us. Fina made sure that it received the care it deserved and answered any question I had with honesty rather than typical salesperson scripts. I was very nervous about leaving such an important piece here for service and Fina made me feel very comfortable with doing so, and that paid off. She went above and beyond in all of our interactions, and made sure their very best jewelry service technician (Donald) would be in charge of working on our ring. Donald did such an amazing job with the ring and exceeded our expectations. He has been in the business for over 30 years and his expertise shows. On 6 weeks, we never saw any photos, not calls, texts, or emails on the status - nothing. Have made 2 payments on a ring I haven't even seen a picture of
7 weeks, get the photos - it's nothing like described or talked through. Told about price reduction/compensation for the miscommunication.
10 weeks, told it's ready - no updated photos, no rendering, no idea what it looks like. $700 total paid into this ring with no idea if it even fits.
10 weeks 3 days - pick it up, it looks okay, price reduction? Initially stated $233 off with a 15% discount... actual total off - $58 - less than the tank of gas it took to get there. Told "sorry, that's the best I can do. Also that check will mail to you within 21 days"
So maybe in another month I'll be able to spend that whopping $58. I will never...
