I will NEVER do business with this specific location again. The manager is downright nasty. I came in after 3 months of owning my ring (with a protection plan) because a stone fell out. Dropping off was a breeze and was assured it would be taken care of. I wait the couple weeks and receive an email saying it was ready for pickup. I drove the 40 minutes to the mall. Upon arriving I was told they sent it back and they it was deemed non-repairable. So my only other option was to payt out another $400 for my ring and be reimbursed or to open a Kay account for their credit card to charge that. I said absolutely not, I shouldn’t having to be paying a dime because I have the warranty and have only had my ring 3 months. They found some way around it and ordered my ring again. I get a call saying it’s ready so I drive up here again only to be told my ring was in the wrong size. Nick says he tried to order it in the right size, so they’d have to send it out for sizing. I told them how ridiculous this has been and that I shouldn’t have had to jump through all of this when I’ve only had the ring three months. The manager goes on to say she’s been up with “her little autistic baby”(her words) and that she wasn’t dealing with me. Mind you I have my 5 year old with me as well. I told her that I’m sorry for what she has going on but she still had a job to do nonetheless. It escalated to her coming up to me with a finger in my face and calling security because I’m bawling my eyes out in her store because I felt like I’ve just been completely crapped on. She would not give me the new ring, she wouldn’t talk to my MIL when she called, so even after I’ve bought a warranty on my ring, did all the things I was supposed to do, I’m out of my engagement ring two months before my wedding. She had no remorse talking to me the way she did or about owning up to them doing something wrong. She said I was the problem because I told her how I felt. So no money given back, no ring fixed nothing. Thanks...
Read moreIf I could give lower than 1 star on this review that is what the Kay Jewelers at Columbiana Mall in Columbia, SC would receive. I have never been treated with such disrespect and rudeness in my 68 years of life.
My husband had purchased a protection plan for my wedding rings. Five weeks ago, during a medical emergency my rings had to be cut off my finger by medical personnel, due to a horrific injury. Today, when I went to Kay Jewlers to have my bridal set repaired under the protection plan, I was told the plan was null and void b/c the rings had been cut off! What was I supposed to do lose my finger of hand? This was totally incorrect and nowhere in the plan does it say anything to this effect. The only thing it does not cover is if the rings are lost. The rude, and I mean rude, clerk would not even check the agreement and turned his back and went into a back room. His demeanor was very condescending, as well. He never said, " let me check on it", or "I will be right back." - he simply left me standing there--very, very upset! I left and went down a few stores to a competing jewelery store and was treated like a queen! We will never, ever shop at Kay Jewlers again and will tell the people we know what poor, rude , and unprofessional treatment we received by a male associate at the Columbiana Mall location! Don't waste your time - walk a few more steps to a friendlier and...
