Justin was extremely helpful throughout my entire experience in the store. I walked in hoping to get my Tudor resized and having just come from the gym I was definitely not dressed as if I was there to look at luxury watches. As he worked on my watch, I was looking at more Tudor watches and the Rolexes on display. When he brought my watch back, we got to talking about more Tudor models and he had an extensive knowledge of the different models and never tried to just push the most expensive piece on me (granted I went with more the more expensive option just off of personal preference). Being new to the luxury watch scene, we also started talking about how I would go about getting on the list for a Rolex. If I had walked in to any other authorized dealer and from the stories I had heard from other friends who have purchased Rolexes from AD’s in bigger cities, I probably wouldn’t have been taken seriously. Justin went above and beyond to explain the process of choosing your desired model, typical allocations for their store, and how sylvan’s makes the entire process of buying a Rolex very personal especially for anyone who is local to the area. I left the store with a resized black bay GMT, a brand new Tudor black bay, and the feeling that I won’t necessarily have to wait a year or 2 or 3 for “the call”. As I continue down this new (and expensive) collector’s hobby, I will always choose Sylvan’s as my go to store and Justin as my go to sales representative.
Update: stopped in today just to browse and so far it always ends up turning into more than a browse. I was immediately greeted by Amanda who has a vast knowledge of Tudor and picked up a beautiful royal from her and got to take a closer look at a few Rolexes as I patiently wait for “the call”. The customer service here is what keeps me coming back as I continue to build my watch collection. The way this store does business and customer service all the brands from Cartier and Omega to AP and Patek should be...
Read moreI drove to this store genuinely excited to explore wedding band options for myself and my fiancé. The experience took a turn when the store manager, Sara, asked me whether I was interested in a lab-grown or natural diamond. I answered honestly and said I preferred lab-grown, since there’s no visible difference and they offer far better value. Her tone immediately shifted, and she said they only carry natural diamonds—then went on to state that there are “many differences” between lab and natural stones.
What didn’t sit right was that she had just asked me about my preference—then questioned whether my engagement ring was lab-grown, as if that said something negative about me. Honestly, if there were so many visible differences between lab and natural diamonds, she shouldn’t have had to ask.
Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and visually identical to natural ones. They’re more affordable, ethical, and accessible.
Over half of engagement ring center stones sold in the U.S. today are lab-grown. The market is changing fast. If a business doesn’t change with it, they’ll fall behind—just like the resale value of natural diamonds already have.
I left the store feeling judged for wanting something cost-effective and modern. It’s disappointing that a 120+ yo company is being represented this way. I won’t...
Read moreSeveral months ago, I was shopping for an engagement ring. Walking into this store was one of the most insulting retail experiences I’ve ever had. Instead of listening to what I was looking for, an engagement ring featuring a lab-grown diamond, the staff decided it was their mission to lecture me upon hearing my preference. They sneered for daring to prefer an ethical, sustainable option over a natural diamond.
Not only is that behavior unprofessional, it’s archaic. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and visually identical to mined stones, but without the ethical baggage or inflated pricing schemes propped up by artificial scarcity. For a jeweler to shame a customer over an informed choice is absurd and frankly offensive.
An engagement ring should be about love, commitment, and personal values; not about being bullied into outdated notions of status. This store revealed its true priority: protecting profit margins, not serving customers. I left feeling insulted and disgusted, and I will make sure everyone I know hears about this experience.
If you value respect, honesty, and customer service, avoid this place. Don’t waste your time being...
