The park is well maintained, but there are no doors in the bathrooms. You can't tell if someone is in a stall until you walk past it. If you're in the furthest stall to avoid someone busting in on you, and someone else comes in, there's only one way to exit. By walking past someone else on the toilet. I've never experienced anything like this. Is this a drug deterrent? Or just a patron deterrent? Is it so much to ask? It's slightly more private than just peeing in the woods. Except if you were peeing in the woods, you could at least see if someone was coming up on you and warn them!

And you can't hear someone walking in, so unless they announce their intent to use a toilet, you're in for a surprise. This is honestly the most I've talked about using a public bathroom, outside of the mill race toilets, where you get to make strangers feel uncomfortable while you pee together.

And don't get me started on the safety. You feel really exposed. I'm a small woman, and you can't hear foot steps in there, so the whole time I'm worried about who's going to come around the corner. It could be someone's kids, or some strange man.

I am so passionate about this because I worked an event where I stayed for nine hours. Seriously? Who's call was this? I...

Very large and spacious pet friendly park. It has many trails to run through. Large open areas to play some football or soccer in; or maybe fly a kite or drone. Few hills to roll down from or sled from. Many places to just sightsee as well, with some history of the place too that you can read on the plaques that are scattered around the park.

Overall, this park is an absolute gem to go to. As long as you don't need to use the restroom. There are porta potties located right outside the restrooms that you must use, due to the actual restrooms being locked. I do not know why this is yet, but what i do know however, is that the porta potties can be nightmare inducing. Beware when you go to one, you'll never know what you'll discover when you open the door. For this, i bump down 1 star.

That said, I would highly recommend going to this park if you have not done so yet. What little amount I described, does this park no justice. So attached to this review are a few pictures of a few spots located...

My god this park is horrible. Seriously parks have a closing time? And why so earlier? 10 pm. Also 7 am opening i mean what if I need to run at 6 am at 5 am. I actually had an issue when I went for my morning run at 5am and will never go here again. Policeman followed me in with his car slowly crept along behind me and finally stopped me. Questioned me about what I was doing at that hour in a park. I would think in my running clothes and the fact i was making circles would have given it away but guess not. More than anything his disrepectful attitude and comments angered me.Then when he asked for my i.d. and i refused until I had been given a real reason why he needed it he escorted me off the property. Wow...never putting myself through that again. So beautiful park but you can keep it if I have to deal with that. Double wow i mean who...

Mill Race park is a beautifully designed park. In its 85 acres, there are various features that provide an engaging public space. Besides the 84-foot tall lookout tower that is a must-try, the well-designed walking trail loop takes you through all sorts of sights: a sandy beach by the Flatrock river; the cool covered bridge; a large round pond structure surrounded by trees, benches, and lampposts; the walk-through circular tube lined with vining plants; picnic shelters; and vast open lawn with many shade trees. The scenic sights are even better in autumn. I have seen many couples having their wedding photography done here. It’s amazing to have a park of this scale right in Downtown Columbus. Definitely recommend!

This park is beautiful and we had fun going up the observation tower and seeing the city. The open grassy areas were nice and the covered bridge is neat to look at and drive through. However, we tried to take a stroll around the pond, but it was pretty gross. From a distance, it looked nice, but up close, it was covered in algea and stunk of dead fish.(We also saw several dead fish floating) The walkways were covered in water and mud, and it seems that it's a normal occurrence based on others' pictures, and the amount of mud and debris on the sidewalk.
