My husband and I were members of Sparked Society Gym for about seven months, and overall, it was a decent experience. Pros: The gym has a solid selection of machines, which is pretty impressive given the small space. It has personality, it dn’t feel like just another generic gym. The owner seems invested in upgrading the equipment. The posing room is a nice feature, the cancellation policy is simple, and their merch is actually really nice. Also, it’s open 24/7, which is super convenient, the temperature was always perfect, And I loved the girls' locker room It was one of my favorite things about the gym.
Cons: The gym is tiny, so when it gets crowded, it can feel overwhelming fast. The machines are packed close together, so if you have social anxiety, this setup probably isn’t ideal. The stretching area didn’t work for me at all, the padding felt off, so I always had to find another spot, usually in the way of someone else. If mobility work and stretching are important to you, this gym probably won’t be your best bet. Also, this place is definitely a social media gym. People love recording themselves here, tripods everywhere, even ridiculously early in the morning. I’d show up at 5 AM and still see people filming, sometimes right in the middle of walkways or on machines I was planning to use. I usually kept my earbuds in and stayed focused, but it was impossible not to notice. Then there are the regulars some of them act like they own the place, leaving gallon jugs, laptops, bags and phones everywhere. One time, I even saw a Bible just sitting in the middle of the gym, which definitely threw me off. And honestly, the drama got old. People talked behind each other's backs way more than you'd expect in a gym. At first, I ignored it, but after dealing with it personally, I realized how toxic the environment could be. Just a heads-up, my review is based on my experience between 5 AM to 7 PM—I can’t speak for what it’s like at other hours.
Why I left: This is where things fell apart. A guy made some nasty, disrespectful comments about me, which led to a confrontation with my husband. The owner was informed about it, but he didn’t seem to care at all. After that, I knew I was done no way I was ever stepping foot in...
Read moreI passionately recommend this gym, for one reason more than any other. It is owned by one man, Aaron Thompson, who has a strict belief in doing what is best for his members. I have never once had any trouble pausing my membership: no BS with paperwork or anything like that. During Arnold Weekend, he prioritized us by using all day pass money on new equipment. He recently opened up a large new section of the gym, and did not plague current members with some grand event: even though I would not blame him for doing so. He simply unveiled it on a random night, allowing us to come see it during our normal work out days. The owner always puts money back into the business. I wholeheartedly know that he, as a principle, cares about his gym and the...
Read moreWent here for about 9 months and enjoyed it for the most part but I had some issues. It's pretty much always 75+ degrees in there so you will be sweating profusely even if you don't want to. They also blast their music so loud that you can usually still hear it through your earbuds at max volume. There also arent any showers or proper changing rooms, just a bathroom with nowhere to put your clothes/items except on the floor. Maybe these things won't annoy other people but I still thought they were worth pointing out. Other than that the gym has a great selection of machines and free weights and pretty much everyone I met...
