Military Families Beware…Installation Nightmare, Unacceptable Customer Service... ***this is a review of Home Depot as a business and their customer service and their resolutions department. This review is not reflective of any experience I had with the physical store or employees at the store. I have learned this the hard (and costly) way. Never, ever again will I pay for (or allow) for Home Depot to arrange major appliance installation in my home. Doing so (1) nearly started a serious electrical fire in my home, (2) compromised any/all faith I have that Home Depot as an esteemed business, and (3) is costing me an estimated $320 to repair a 6-month-old major appliance due to negligence and improper installation. Installation that I paid for and was backed by Home Depot. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a “reputable” business. I am writing this review to caution anyone, especially Active Duty Servicemembers, their families, and any other people that have to move frequently. I know how it works: Home Depot contracts a big transportation and logistics company (e.g. J.B. Hunt) who then sub-contracts to a smaller transportation company to actually execute the install and delivery. These employees are not always knowledgeable about using an electric drill without destroying simple screws. Businesses have to cut costs somewhere. Sure, I get it. But if I buy a major appliance from Home Depot and they arrange for "professional" installation, then who is responsible when it goes wrong? Surely, it should not be the paying customer.

Messy, disheveled and disorganized. This is not necessarily a covid problem. It's been like this. The bolt and screw aisle is a joke, good luck finding three matching bolts. Haven't bought much plumbing but I'm willing to bet it's the same story. The small parts storage has been reduced to just a couple bins, where other stores have dozens. The lumber yard is chronically understocked. Before the pandemic I had multiple sheets of plywood cut and there was often a line as the person running the saw seemed to be learning as he went. Note this is not a critique of the staff but rather the management that let the staff on the saw without proper training. Post pandemic there are also a number of problems, besides the fact that no one in the store seems to care about wearing masks or social distancing. Mainly there aren't staff retrieving lumber carts to stage in the lumber area. Many carts are prestaged online orders which clog aisles. The rest litter the parking lot, and because of the restricted entrances and exits, if you want a lumber cart you have to retrieve it and from one side of the lot, walk it to the other side of the lot, then back to the other side of the store. There are many other minor aggravations, not all of them the fault of the store but all frustrating. I know, first world problems, but all of it adds up to making me dread having to go to my favorite store. Edit: how is your store still such a mess. Is 9am really the best time to be restocking? Really?

The Homedepot on Sowega Drive in Columbus, Ga is one of my favorite stores for tools, rental equipment,Vinyl flooring selections, bathroom remodeling supplies, trees and shrubs. The customer service with the staff has always been excelent. Instock has never been an issue. I have also used their online orders and to car delivery. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend this store. I have also have used them to install flooring in my bedroom and closest and had a great experience with the gentleman that was sent to my home.

As I am writing this review, my husband is self-serving in the Home Depot in Columbus when there is very little customer traffic. We live in between Lagrange and Columbus. We are getting an extension to our outdoor patio and decided on concrete pavers. We bought the initially batch yesterday in Lagange. We needed more pavers and went back to Lagrange. Lagrange was all out of our doe fix paver; however, Lagrange offered to call Columbus Home Depit store to ensure that Columbus had the pavers that we wanted. Columbus did have the pavers. My husband paid for them at Lagrange and was told that he could pick them up in two hours. My husband wait an hour and 45 minutes and enters the store in Columbus. He was told that his order was not ready and that they had two hours to fulfill the order. Ok- that leaves 15 minutes. No big deal. Be mindful The time and date is on the receipt and the employee in Lagrange called Columbus to make sure that they had the order. 30 minutes goes by and no word on the order. My husband asked to speak to a store manager, who said to him they were busy. My husband asked to store manager about the two hour promise and was saved no real answer. The only choice. Left with was to get the 150 pavers by ourselves. Bottom line… Home Depot is normally our number one choice. There was no excuse for not helping us in a more professional, customer based manner. We did our part… We paid, and we waited the allotted time without any service. Yes, Home Depot is our number one place but not the Home Depot In Columbus. If you have a choice, choose a different Home Depot. What is difficult to understand is why the store manager didn’t feel a need to assist or to get someone to help that could. You lose credibility one dissatisfied...

I've been using this Home Depot for over 2 years. Typically my shopping experience is typical. I find what I need, pay and I'm on with my day. However, the last 2 times I've visited has made me realize that driving an extra 2 miles to shop at Lowes instead is more then okay. The customer service took a nose dive like I've never seen the like of. I didn't have a problem of any kind. I was able to find what I needed. However, when I asked for help cutting some chain the man simply ignored me. He was helping a couple decide on some picture hanging stuff for more then 10 mins. I asked him for help again after 15 mins, and he repeated almost everything I said...he really did. I asked for help from someone else and he said I needed to ask the first guy and walked away. When I asked the third person he told me he would be right there and never came. So, I went to Lowes not because I couldn't find what I needed at Home Depot, but because they basically refused to sell it to me. The next day I had to return some bolts I had gotten on the chain fiasco trip because they where the wrong size. The 2 women standing at the customer service desk where talking when I walked up. One waved me over to her register and refunded my item onto a gift card without asking me anything. Okay, actually the entire process occurred without her saying a word. Believing I was in a customer service Twilight Zone I for some unknown reason said Thank You....to which I got a nod. ---I will be one very desperate person to ever set foot back in a Hope Depot again. I will drive a few more miles to another company for decent customer service. And, I will simply do without before I have to kiss the butt of a disgruntled Home Depot...

WARNING! Dealing with Home Depot has been a nightmare! I would advise to stay away from them. I’m sorry this is long post.…on March 19th we bought a new dishwasher at Home Depot in Columbus. Delivery was scheduled for March 28th. They delivered it but did not leave all the parts or install and said we needed an electrician. On March 29th, electrician came and I called to reschedule installation and they couldn’t come until April 6th. April 6th Marcus and Malcolm came and said they didn’t have the parts to finish the installation so they needed to order us a new unit. They tried to put the old one in the best they could but the door doesn’t even close. They took pictures and said they need to document “how not to install a dishwasher” from the last delivery guys. They told us to call Home Depot to reschedule. I called and they transferred me to Bosch! Bosch said they couldn’t help me and that Home Depot was probably trying to get rid of me so I called Home Depot back and they said the earliest appointment was April 18th. Then they called my husband and said they can come today. Today I heard a truck so I looked out and I didn’t know it was them since they parked between our house and our neighbors house out by the road…they did not even pull in our yard. Then my husband got a text that the new dishwasher was delivered and they left a delivery slip in our mailbox but it WAS NOT delivered! They did not even pull in the yard and they did not come to the door as our door bell will record when motion is detected. Michael was on the phone for an hour and a half, being transferred back and forth, trying to get this straightened out and now they say they can’t come...
