A Cozy Welcome to LA
Our very first landing point in Los Angeles brought us straight to Crystal Casino & Hotel, and honestly, it couldn’t have been a better welcome to the city.
From the moment we arrived fresh off a flight from Charlotte and after picking up our rental car we were greeted with the ease and comfort this place offers. The casino setup is decent, nothing overwhelmingly flashy, but definitely enough to enjoy a calm and entertaining evening. What makes it special is the attached hotel, built thoughtfully for casino guests looking to stay overnight.
One of the most appreciated features was their CCTV-monitored, secure parking lot, which is exclusively accessible to those staying at the hotel. That alone offered great peace of mind for travelers like us carrying luggage and valuable belongings.
The complimentary breakfast here stood out. Unlike the usual generic spread of just fruits, cereal, and yogurt we’ve experienced at many hotels across the U.S., Crystal Casino offered an actual hearty breakfast simple yet truly edible and enjoyable. It felt like they actually cared about guests being fed well, not just checked off a box.
Small gestures matter like the complimentary water bottles given at checkout. As travelers continuing our journey, that was incredibly thoughtful and practical.
Though we only stayed for 24 hours, and didn’t get a chance to use amenities like the swimming pool or lounging chairs, everything looked clean, well-kept, and inviting. The washrooms were tidy, and the overall vibe of the hotel was chill and comfortable, just what we needed after a long travel day.
Key Highlights I would like to mention here are, • Casino with an attached stay-in hotel reception • Safe, locked, CCTV-covered guest parking • Genuinely good complimentary breakfast • Clean rooms and washrooms • Friendly vibe and great hospitality • Bonus: Free water bottles on checkout
💭 Final Thought:
If you’re landing in LA and want a reliable, relaxed place to begin your trip with a touch of casino fun, Crystal Casino & Hotel is definitely worth considering. It’s not about being luxurious it’s about comfort, thoughtfulness, and convenience, and this place delivered...
Read moreMy experience was awful, so I have pretty bad eyes and also sensitive ears and I just so happen to have been outside when I have to fix my contacts so I sat down on the stairwell outside on the side of the casino and as I was fixing my contacts and putting on my ear plugs, the oversized bald security guard who may or may or may not be the security guard for the casino, I’m not too sure because when I tried making a formal complaint, the receptionist or manager for the casino were giving me attitude and not trying to help me so I can’t be so sure since they are trying to defend him so that I don’t make a complaint but anyway, that security had told me in a disrespectful manner to leave the stairs because they are for employees only which I know he is lying because people from the hotel and casino often smoke there and it is a designated smoking area there is a smoking ash tray on top of the trash bin so it is cery clear what that spot is for and I had to let him know that I know it is not an area for employees only but he insisted and kept trying to disrespectfully kick me out. They would not let me file a complaint or anything of that matter so I had to resort to complaining on here. They are not professional, they act like teenagers with power trips only because they have enough authority to not get called out by anyone higher up since they won’t let anyone file any complaints. Please do not waste your money with this...
Read moreThis place is horrible! Staff could not find my booking info that was done a month prior to my arrival. Staff made me feel as though it was my fault and I needed to resolve the issue.
Entrance is very dangerous! Homeless people were hanging out in the parking lot. The hotel rents the parking lot to a valet company. When asked about parking for the hotel stay, the valet was very rude and treated me as though I was lying to him about staying.
When the parking issue was resolved, I was sent to a gated area to an underground parking structure that is very dangerous for females and has the high potential for criminal acts to occur.
When the room situation was resolved, I was placed in the 8th floor. Several room doors were opened and occupied. The people and there rooms appeared to look like they had very long stays. The room lights did not come on, the furniture is very old, no cable television or very bad reception.
The casino areas appeared to be make shift areas. I used to visit this place often 15 years ago and I must say that this place is ready to be torn down.
I do not feel safe here, if I known all this before had, I would have spent the extra money. Then they have you leave a $50 incidental fee, for old furniture, broken sink and two bottles of water.
I have not even unpacked my bags because I don’t know if it’s safe to be here. A little higher price for a more quality place...
