The YTT program at Our Yoga Home has been an enriching, creative and inspiring experience. When the opportunity for enrollment arose, I was initially unsure about how deeply I wanted to dive into the study of yoga. Although I loved being in the “Yoga Home” community, where I practice almost daily, I did not feel called to teach yoga. It didn’t matter in the least. I learned so much, not only about the physical practice of Yoga but also about its deeply beautiful philosophy, spiritual tenets and interesting history. I was exposed to fascinating readings like the Bhagavad Gita, the language of Sanskrit, and also learned about other types of yoga besides Vinyasa, such as Adaptive and Yin. The course schedule was flexible (with more time off around holidays) and the teachers were enthusiastically willing to make adjustments and offer private mentoring for me. While I garnered so much from the YTT experience, the friendships and community connections I made with the teachers and fellow students were a highlight and will remain with me for life. I HIGHLY recommend this experience for anyone interested in growing, learning, and connecting, no matter your age or gender (I’m a retired male high school teacher). It was totally worth the financial...
Read moreI started at Yoga Home this month with a 3-week trial, and so far, I'm very glad to have done so! The instructors I have taken classes with so far are each knowledgeable, welcoming, and deliver exactly what I'm looking for in their respective class formats. I've been practicing since 2015 and recently completed a 200 hour certification program, so as a new and hopeful yoga teacher, I feel Yoga Home is a great place for me to observe techniques to incorporate in my own classes. Yoga Home instructors build great flows for experienced yogis, but lots of modifications and variations are offered throughout classes. I am notttt a morning person, and I've gotten my butt up for two 6am classes here with Michelle K. (who is amazing) -- so that's saying a lot. I would certainly recommend this studio for 'any body' of any level looking for a great...
Read moreI was happy to get the chance to try out Rich's vinyasa class today. Apparently, he taught at Yoga Home in the past before I started taking classes there, and he has returned. I enjoyed the mix of familiar poses and some new ones, as well as creative sequences of poses. He has a very soothing voice and supportive style, which I also enjoyed. Unfortunately, I usually work during the time his class is held, but in the future if my work schedule changes like it did today, I will definitely take his class again! I am grateful for the variety of approaches to vinyasa yoga that the different instructors at Yoga Home take and for the welcoming and warm environment there. And I love the fact that Yoga Home is involved with the community and acts in line with important community values, such as inclusivity--that's one of the reasons I keep...
