I love Aldi! It’s great for picking up a quick-to-prepare dinner or weekly grocery shopping. While you won’t find the selection you find at Walmart, the prices are almost always better and it is so much quicker to get in and out of the store!
A few tips if you’ve never shopped at Aldi: Swing by to take a look around before you show up with a lengthy grocery list in hand Pack a quarter (you’ll need it to unlock a cart, but you’ll get it back when you return it) BYOB, bags, that is! They also have paper and reusable bags available to purchase at the checkout Don’t expect stellar customer service. They encourage customers to participate in using reusable bags or available boxes by not providing them but they do have a variety of bag types available for purchase. They have a large selection of healthy items & high quality ingredients available... some items are not always available but staples are.. you can't beat their prices for milk, eggs, butter, flour, sugar, cheese & other items. Read moreI went in for two items currently not available at Walmart Frederica. La Choy soy sauce and a 12 pack 500 ml Dr Pepper. They had neither . I did find two spices at a great price and unsalted pistachios in the shell.
I do not carry any change. I do not pay cash whenever possible. I left when my hands were full. You could have baskets to use while shopping. At checkout I provide my own bag or carry it out loose.
The biggest plus was seeing the seated checker. There was a sign at the empty counter that it was open and to place your purchases there. The checker promptly appeared.
