Never no more will I come back.
Firstly, the property had an unresolved maintenance issue: the dishwasher was broken for the entirety of our stay. While not the sole reason for my rating, it was a clear inconvenience that remained unaddressed after being reported.
My primary dissatisfaction, however, stems from the lack of transparency regarding beach access. The 'public access' available was shockingly limitedâroughly 50 by 100 feetâwith all adjacent areas designated as private. This significantly restricted our ability to enjoy the beach, forcing us to contend with an overcrowded small strip of sand, which was not the experience we anticipated based on your listing. We were essentially left with the option of a limited area at the public beach, or to load all the beach chairs and umbrellas into the car and drive to Henderson State Park. It is crucial for rental companies to explicitly detail such severe limitations, especially given that many visitors are unaware of Florida's largely private beach landscape. This oversight feels deliberate. Please note, the photo taken was after a storm and people were returning back to the beach in the afternoon. The photo is to show the lack of space at the public beach area.
Furthermore, the significant construction immediately beside our unit, I believe, was severely understated. It would have been appropriate to be far more transparent about the direct impact of this work. We could not even rest at the unit due to the constant noise, and there were times our entry or exit from the property was blocked by construction equipment. This does not event take into account the privacy concerns that I had. While I understand these workers have a job, more detailed information about this disruption would have been essential to our decision to rent from you. We would have liked to sit on the back patio, but were unable due to the noise and due to the random screws that would fly over. The photos are to show the close proximity of the construction that I don't feel was accurately reflected by you.
Your choice to call a customer's honest feedback 'cowardly' is unacceptable and reflects poorly on your approach to criticism. My intention was to warn future guests about a significant discrepancy between expectation and reality. Your defensive and dismissive tone suggests a reluctance to accept valid negative feedback. I will be contacting you directly to discuss...
Read moreWe are very disappointed with our experience with best beach getaways. We rented the Le Jardin #156. We notified Best Beach on Saturday evening when we arrived of some of these issues via text and calls. No one picked up, we called repeatedly and we left a few messages--we had no information on where we were supposed to park at the resort , the code for the outside gate, wifi, etc. These are kind of important things to tell guests before they arrive!
Once in the unit, we saw the stove/oven unit pulled away from the wall, sitting in the middle of the kitchen with a danger/unsafe to use sign on it. We had no way to cook all week (and were promised the stove/oven would be fixed early in the week via text message)--this is a major issue for a family of 7. They knew of this issue on 3/9/22âfour day before we arrived but we were never given any notice or offered an alternative. We microwaved or ate out--but we planned to cook most of our meals which is why we booked a unit with a kitchen!
There was a coffee maker but no coffee carafe so we could not make coffee in the morningsânot a major deal but an inconvenience and had to go get coffee every morning.
Tuesday we started a load of laundry only to find out that no water was connected so we had to soak all the clothes and towels in the bathtub to clean and rinse the detergent out. We rung each piece out, put everything in dryer and then find out the dryer does not work either! We have had laundry hanging for three days and some is still not dry. Had we known the washer and dryer were not working we would have never bought detergent nor started a load! A simple sign or a courtesy email could have prevented this. These are not things you plan on spending your vacation doing.
I find it hard to believe that all of these issues happened right before we came. It appears that it is not properly maintained and these issues are not only not fixed in a timely fashion but are not even communicated to people staying here--a lot of surprises for people who are looking forward to a relaxing week away. We are reasonable people and understand some things are out of your control, but the amount at issues combined with the lack of communication is not acceptable. We don't go on vacation often and are so disappointed at this experience. We were promised a 20% refund in writing after the stove/oven issue and it was never issued. At this point we feel we should be refunded more than 20% with the additional issues and all the time wasted on vacation and once we returned home trying to get this resolved. I have documentation of all the calls and texts sent letting them know...
Read moreWe stayed at Wine'd Down for two weeks this summer. Having stayed in the Seagrove Beach area many times the past 12 years, this was the best house and location by far. Plenty of space for 2 families -- we had 11 for most of the time and had room to spare. The lowest level downstairs provided privacy for a young couple, as well as gathering area for the young adults away from the parents. A real perk for us.
We did a ton of fishing while we were there, renting fishing kayaks for 10 days as well as doing an offshore trip, so we ate a lot of fresh fish that we caught ourselves. Having two grills (one Weber charcoal, one propane) was perfect for us, as we were able to cook for our big group, and prepare fish in many ways (smoked, grilled, as well as pan blacked and fried on the stove top). The side area with the stand for kayaks was perfect, and the two kayaks provided were great for exploring Eastern Lake when things got windy on the beach. Another nice perk that not every house offers.
The decor and finish out of the house was awesome -- very comfortable, yet beach durable furniture and beds, and the bathrooms/showers were amazing. My wife and I stayed in the upstairs master facing the gulf and I think that shower might be one of the best I've ever used with the pressure, water quality and the overhead rain style shower head. The appliances were amazing too -- all updated and perfect for the beach. In particular, the washer and dryer are HUGE capacity and work great with bulkier items like towels. Also, for our families of early rising fishermen, having both Keureg and drip coffee makers came in very handy. Large smart TV's were great, especially the one in the main living area. We were able to set up our YouTubeTV, Netflix and Amazon Prime apps to watch like we were at home in most every room. Plenty of parking: we had 3 vehicles (full size pick up, mid size SUV, and a minivan) and the long driveway was perfect with room to spare.
Access to the beach can't be beat unless you are right on the water. There just isn't another house that is as convenient to get to and from the beach, which made our setup and tear down each day so much easier than most.
We can't recommend Wine'd Down enough -- book and stay...
