It’s a big no for me for serval reasons 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤢 (1) The Smoke Tuna dip tasted as it came out of a can (2) The server did know nothing about their drink menu (3) The $40 grouper and scallops pasta was filled up with butter and olive oil at least over halfway in the dish they served with, the scallops tasted rubbery, my stopping point with the greasy dish was when I tasted the bones of the grouper as it went down my throat, after while when I couldn’t eat anymore, my stomach started aching from all the butter and olive oil, thank god hallelujah I didn’t throw up because that embarrassing. Lastly, I don’t mind spending $40 on a dish, but it better be good, unlike this dish was 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤢 (4) Other people at my table got crab cakes, and they were disappointed to see two little thin small crab cakes on an average size plate, and they said it tasted frozen, not fresh (5) Earlier during the dinner, the waitress filled up our water at the table, and later on, she took my empty cut of water away to the kitchen and brought back the same glass of water fill up, and I knew it was the same glass because it the same lemon 🍋 in it. In the restaurant industry, this is a no-brainer big no-no. (6) A few minutes before it was closing, the staff started to flick the light at us as we just got the check-up and put the tip out and our cards and changeup. At the least, they could have told us they wanted to close when they handed back the check. (7) Whoever designed this place should never be in the designing industry yikes because the atmosphere of the restaurant felt very sterile and uncomfortable like I am in the doctor's office. And the worst thing about the style of atmosphere and decor is already outdated and they just recently opened this location. In simpler english it be like if someone open a brand new restaurant 8 years ago with the 2000s Tuscan style. YIKES (8) The first red flag 🚩 our party should’ve noticed it was empty, which is unusual for a restaurant to be empty at 8:00 when we arrived.
If you want a good dining experience instead of going here, I recommend going to the Red Bar, The Bay, Cantina Laredo, Farm & Fire Pizza, Great Southern Cafe, and there are some fantastic cute a little airstreams food trucks near watercolor (especially Meltdowns on 30A). So many great options to eat down here, but this...
Read moreUnbelievably unprofessional staff! We walked in the door with my service dog and my mom’s small puppy. As soon as we entered three ladies at the front desk made a look of disgust and shouted out you can’t have a dog here. (Not a professional “Good Afternoon, I’m sorry we don’t allow dogs”.). Knowing that by law they must allow service dogs my mom calmly asked “You don’t allow service animals?”. The lady behind the front desk said we don’t allow emotional support animals only real service dogs. And we are allowed to ask what kind of service dog. As a service dog owner I am fully aware of the two questions that establishments are allowed to ask by law. I am always willing to answer these questions of course. Although rarely do other establishments or employees ask. However to assume the dog is an emotional support animal just because I’m not in a wheelchair or holding a cane is highly offensive. NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE! I can’t believe their behavior in this day and age. In all my time with my service dog. I’ve never met such rude and unprofessional staff! I would recommend supporting another establishment that trains and educates their staff and does not tolerate...
Read moreWe found 790 On the Gulf through locals who know the area, it’s a well kept secret, it’s really a great option in Destin/Crystal Beach for the following reasons; An opportunity to eat as close to the beach as one can get (outside and inside seating), a very nice happy hour with some great beverage and food options. We've been here over a dozen times now in the past 5 months, we can ALWAYS find a place to park even if it’s in the height of tourist season – not all restaurants can say this. The staff is friendly, the manager has been very kind we always see her and she is present during service hours, checking on customers and supporting the staff. The entire staff too many to name, JoJo and others are very helpful we really enjoy this spot!!!! Lots of weddings on the beach here they have a nice setup for these. The patio facing the beach is quite nice we often see dolphin pods cruising up the beach when the water is calm. It’s easy to take a walk on the beach before or after dinner If you are on the beach at Crystal Beach or anywhere on the strip, do yourself a favor by having lunch, dinner of a night cap at 790...
