I am writing to you to inform you about an incident with my motorcycle BMW 0 km.,since there was no answer, or any solution in any area of service, therefore I am obliged to communicate directly with you to get an answer. The detail of what happened:
The day april 23 2014 I bought a motorcycle BMW F700gs, vin number: WB10B1100EZF85650 at the store Motorcycles of Miami, inc. Located in 7501 NW 36th st. Miami. When I took it to the first mandatory service at 600 miles (1000 km), note that when I was operating the front brake,it producing a vibration which I attributed it to the ABS system because I never drove before a motorcycle with this system. In this service was replaced exhaust manifold headers due to dent by warraty because it has been knocked in the transfer from the factory to the store, then I coment my concern about the vibration in the brake discs and they give me confirmation that they had been controlled, and there no was problem with them but that did not turn out well. (as you can see the file attached they only controlled the brake fluid levels, but they never controlled the nothing about the brake discs). Then I started a journey from Miami then across Canada to get Alaska (USA) and then I cross Latin America to get to Ushuaia (Argentina).
Shortly after starting the journey, the vibration mentioned at the beginning started to become more noticeable, to the point of being too annoying which produced poor braking until I choose not to use the front brake anymore. After reaching 6000 miles (10,000 km) I go to a service in Blackfoot Motorrad, 6 Highfield Circle S.E. Calgary, AB T2G 5N5, where they refused to give me the mandatory service, offering an appointment within 14 (fourteen) days, so I decided to buy the parts and continue my journey without any technical inspection in my front brakes that which were still in warraty.
I continued the rest of the trip visiting different dealers such as Fairbanks in Alaska, where they denied me the relevant service, deciding again to buy oil filters, air filters and do the job myself, and continuing my journey without any technical review on my brakes which were still in factory warranty. Arriving in Edmonton I go to a dealership for the technical inspection where only I was notified that I must leave the bike and they only would perform the oil change and any other technical assistance, so I bought the oil, air filter, oil filter, etc. again to do it in another shop, where I was reported that the brake rotors were unable. I was unable to leave the motorcycle at the service because I was traveling alone across the continent, so I turn back to Houston, Texas and the day September 27, I decide to leave the bike at the store British USA / Gulf Coast BMW 1210 College Ave. S. Houston, TX 77587 for the complete service, having traveled so far 16.500 miles and also for perform the review of the brakes, where I replaced the rotors front discs for being damaged and I had to pay the amount of US $ 1,000 approx. because the service would not recognize the collateral damage, objecting to wear because the mileage, when in fact the technical failure was coming from factory.
In this same message attached documentation of service performed and the cost of it, since I would get an acknowledgment of the warranty due to the failure of the disks was from manufactures, and any authorized service could provide a solution to it. This was my first purchase of a BMW motorcycle and so far I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the services provided, to the point that I canceled a future purchase waiting as this situation is resolved, for now I will waiting for you answer.
Thanks
Regards
Marcos...
Read moreWithout any doubts, BMW Motorcycles of Miami deserved the award for "The World's worst dealer". 2 weeks ago, I tried to schedule a service appointment for the 600 miles running service. Tried online, but they never contacted me. Tried by phone approximately 10 times, I could never speak with someone from service. I drove to the dealer, on a Monday. After a 30 minute wait, they tell me that service was closed on Mondays, so I needed to come back another day to schedule the appointment. I asked then to at least schedule the appointment, which they finally did. (Thank you Mike) I showed up at the dealer yesterday, 8:55AM to make sure I was the first one (appointment was at 9:00). Got in the dealer at 9:00, and was left alone waiting until 9:25AM. Pedro, the service manager, asked me if I wanted to wait for the bike, which I told him that I had to go to work, so I could pass by at lunch time to pick it up, and he said that was fine, he would call me when the bike was ready. 3:45PM, I get a call from Pedro. To my surprise, he tells me that the bike was NOT ready, and would not be ready until the NEXT DAY! I told him that could not be, since I needed to go back home (20 miles away) and needed to be at my daughters graduation at 6:00PM, and he said “sorry man, I only had one technician today”. I asked him if they had done anything to the bike, and he said “no, no one has touched it yet”. I asked why, if I had an appointment at 9:00, and was the first one to check in, they didn’t work on my bike, and the answer was “man, I only had one technician today. I don’t know”. So I told him that I was on my way to the dealer to pick up the bike, that I would be there in 10 minutes, to have my bike outside with the keys, because I didn’t want to spend one minute inside that dealer, and would take it for service somewhere else, and would call the General Manager to let him know how bad the service is, and he said “ok”. It was now 4:00PM I then decided to call the general manager to let him know I was on my way, and wanted to speak with him, but they transferred me to the sales manager (Alan) since the GM was on a trip. He asked me what I needed, and I gave him a summary. He asked me if he could call me in 10 minutes, to check what happened. Alan called and tells me that they are working on my bike, and it would be ready at 6:00PM. I told him that was not posible, I had told Pedro not to touch it since I could not wait, so he told me he would go to the garage to see what was going on. Called me at 4:30 to tell me that Pedro decided to rush the service, probably because he got scared, and the bike was already draining the oil… BUT, the bike would be ready at 5:00PM. I told him I could not believe they would do the service properly in less than one hour, and he ensured me that everything would be done correctly. Showed up at the dealer at 4:50, the bike was already outside. I highly doubt that the service was properly done in 30 minutes, since I asked another reputable and responsible dealer and they told me it takes two hours. Came in, Mr. Pedro said hello, printed out my $268.71 invoice ($110 for labor so that’s over $200 an hour) I paid and he gave me my key. Not even an apology or a simple good bye. I truly hope I am never in need to go to this dealer again. They are well known for their bad service department, but I never thought it could...
Read moreI just purchased a big BMW at BMW Motorcycles of Miami; before I dive into the review I'll give some useful background info.
I recently moved to Miami from the Washington DC metropolitan area, where my BMW motorcycle dealership was Bob's BMW. If you don't know it and google it you'll find: "Bob's BMW Motorcycles is one of the largest, most respected BMW motorcycle dealerships in North America, and the winner of several awards for overall dealer excellence, customer satisfaction, and community service". I fully agree with that description. I have been dealing with Bob's since 2012 and have purchased several bikes from them, and they (the people at Bob's and how they run the business) are just excellent and top notch, period. Nothing else needs to be said. The reason why I start reviewing BMW Motorcycles of Miami writing about Bob's BMW is to stablish a reference point to compare against, since Bob's is legendary in the US and beyond, and thus well known.
So, how is BMW Motorcycles of Miami relative to Bob's? Well, it is all Bob's is and more. Back in the Washington DC area I couldn't be happier with Bob's, so they have my upmost respect and if I make it back there they'll have a lifetime customer, but here in Miami the people that make the business of BMW Motorcycles of Miami have really impressed me at all levels. There is not one aspect of my purchase experience that has not been a lot more positive than what I was expecting. They really have it dialed in. It was the perfect motorcycle shopping experience. I just had so much fun. Fun doesn't make it justice, it is way more than that. They are just wonderful people, not just friendly, but really wonderful. All of them. We mainly dealt with Francisco, Alan and Humberto, but also with other members of the team and they were all fantastic. Humberto is great, there when you need him eager to help but will also give you all the time and space. Francisco, the business owner, was exceptional. Spending time with him was like being with a friend. A really respectful, helpful, warm and kind human been. And Alan, is just more of the same. I could keep on describing the other team members that I met, but it would be more of the same and the review would get too long. But a good business doesn't only need nice people, it needs people that know what they are doing and that offer good value to a customer, and here they deliver in spades. They are super professional, knowledgeable and have a problem-solving attitude. And the business itself is very well put together and clean. I could keep on going with this review, but I believe this is enough to get the picture.
I never write reviews, much less this long, but these people deserve my time and effort. I truly had an awesome experience buying my bike. I was looking forward to doing so, but never though that buying something that is material, manmade could provide me with such a human and satisfying experience. Now I have a great bike and a group of people that I am going to look forward to go with on their biweekly...
