I bought their âfresh coconut meat and coconut waterâ yesterday. Immediately after eating and drinking the products, I got a severe headache. I know that it is industry standard to soak all coconuts, even âorganicâ, in either formaldehyde or sodium metabisulphite to prevent mold and extend shelf life as a preservative. Before I bought the products they told me at Brothers Farmers Market that NO preservatives were used. Obviously a lie. When I called to ask if their coconuts are soaked in either of these solutions, explaining I got a piercing headache/migraine... the owner was so nasty to me, refusing to tell me anything, and hung up on me. I was horrified that the owner of a store would treat a customer this way. If you want truly clean coconuts without toxic preservatives, the only company I know of is Coco Mia. And as for the owner of this storeâ her complete disrespect is an indication that they do not care about their customersâ which makes me question the integrity of any of their food. Meaning: it is probably all sprayed or preserved with toxic chemicals they will not tell...
Read moreThis used to be my preferred destination for purchasing produce. However, since the staff change, it has become increasingly difficult to visit due to the subpar customer service. The employees no longer exhibit a friendly demeanor, instead, they display unpleasant attitudes. I had intended to purchase a yellow watermelon, but upon proceeding to checkout, the young lady at the register displayed a particularly nasty attitude, prompting me to politely decline and return the watermelon to its original location before departing the store. I will no longer be patronizing this establishment. It is unfortunate that a long-standing local business has deteriorated to the point where residents no longer wish to visit. If I could give no stars I would. Off to...
Read moreI've been shopping here for about a year now. They have decent variety of organic and conventional goods. I like that I can shop zero waste here. They have a great amount of naked produce. However, there are still some things that are packaged that you won't find "naked" like cherry tomatoes, berries, mushrooms, some of the apples and oranges are in bundles. It would be great to see them offer more "naked" items. They also have a bulk bins section with rice, beans, flour, sugar, candies. Outside there are plants when it's gardening season very reasonably priced compared to other big brand stores. Overall I like shopping here, workers are always friendly...
