Dollar General — Attraction in Shallotte

Very bad poor management I went back into the store the other day to find out That My favorite worker that was the Assistant Store Manager there who was the only guy up there was not working there anymore don’t know what happened or what but I’ve heard the manager is really snobby and always Ill towards customers here and there so I don’t know if that has something to do with why he’s not there no more. But hopefully I run into him somewhere else and wish him luck on his best endeavors whatever job he get’s because he was a amazing dude went above and beyond numerous times for me to help find the product I wanted and needed and he was always available and always answered whatever question I had that needed answered about something and was always polite to everyone and always had a smile from ear to ear no matter whatever was going on he always brighten everyone’s day whenever he said Hi Welcome to dollar general and was super friendly ! Low expectations were still let down!

The aisles are crowded with carts of merchandise. I squeeze through a narrow area where it appears an employee is shelving products, but really just in his phone. Several aisles are so disheveled and unorganized that you can even figure out the correct prices for the items.

When it comes time to check out, they are out of shopping bags. Our order gets placed into a scented trash bag that makes our vehicle smell like a hideous amalgamation of synthetic air freshener and burning plastic.

I would sooner shop at Walmart on black Friday while the building is actively on fire than return to this train wreck of a store.

Staff is horrible!!!! Staff seems to be on drugs or so involved in their personal lives they don’t pay attention to you as a customer and get annoyed when u ask for help as it pulls their nose away from their phones. Today even tho she was at the counter she told me to do self checkout, her personal phone rings and she gets mad cause she was expecting an “Important call” but when I rang something up on accident she acted annoyed and wasn’t paying any attention to me when I asked for help to take off item.
