Saltwater Shanty Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in North Carolina

I absolutely love this place, not only is the atmosphere with the decorations, lights, and friendly staff wonderful, but their ice cream and ever changing seasonal flavors are phenomenal. Thank goodness we only visit here occasionally, as the shanty is right up the road from where we stay and I have to visit at least 3 times while we are here. I would have to find a new wardrobe if I had access to this place all the time. Very dog friendly as well, and their pup cups with dog treats as toppers are hilarious. Also plenty of room around the place for the kiddos to burn off some sugar high afterwards if you hang out by their beautiful fountain and outside decor. From a COVID perspective, this place also nailed it as they are very hygiene minded, and you really have limited contact that is mostly outside based. Made a return trip to Saltwater Shanty. Sometimes an experience with a business may not meet expectations, and not really be anybody's fault. I had an earlier experience where my expectations were not quite met. After writing a less than favorable review, owner Jeff reached out to me and asked me to give them another chance. This experience was one of the best I have had lately. The ice cream was excellent and they have done a great job creating an environment where you can relax and enjoy ice cream with family and friends. Though it was not necessary, he gave me a gift card that covered the cost of the ice cream that my family enjoyed. Best ice cream place hands down in the state of North Carolina! I absolutely enjoy ice cream and do not need a reason to eat it. That said I enjoy a wide variety of flavors. I can get ice cream easily be it at the supermarket, quick store… They better offer more than just Vanilla Chocolate and Strawberry. Let’s face it they need to have these flavors and I like em all but going to “get ice cream” I want something special more unique. I recently had the Blueberry Cheesecake that was a special and not on the menu and guys you need to have it on the menu all the time! It was outstandingly delicious! A few other flavors that you don’t get anywhere else: Sea Turtle, Raspberry Truffle, they have many fantastic flavors you cannot get anywhere else.
