I ADORE Beaches N Cream! I rarely eat ice cream when I'm at home, but every year when we go to the beach we stop every night for ice cream at Beaches N Cream. The rotating flavors keep me checking their menu and webcam each day to plan out my scoop for that evening — Rice Krispy Treat is my favorite, but the Chai Tea Latte is a close second! I think I may need to move to HB so that I can sample ALL the flavors...
The employees, while young, are always kind, hard-working individuals who appear to enjoy working there. We appreciate their warm energy when similar interactions with so many other places leave us feeling like it was a burden to just ring up our purchase. BNC and their employees should know that their effort doesn't go unnoticed.
(As a side note, someone in our group insisted we try the "other" ice cream place this year. We tried it...once...and everything about it confirmed that we had already found The Best Ice Cream at Holden Beach —...
Read moreNice little ice cream shop just across the bridge from Holden Beach. We visited twice, and while the line was out the door both times, it moved quickly and we never had trouble finding seating after we were served. All the workers were kind, courteous, and efficient!
The ice cream itself, which is homemade, ranged from okay at the low end to excellent at the high end. They have a wide variety of flavors, ranging from the standard fruits to “monkey poop” and “sweet and salty spud”. On the “okay” end of the spectrum, I felt that the Nutter Butter ice cream tasted more like vanilla ice cream with a few Nutter Butters mixed in. On the “excellent” end, the Butterfinger ice cream managed to have a base of the Butterfinger flavor along with the crunch of Butterfinger chunks. We didn’t have any bad ice cream here! But some was better than others.
Overall, a solid choice for ice cream after a long day...
Read moreOk...... We were really overcharged here. After paying we thought it seemed high. It was 39 dollars before we added a tip, we felt rushed through the line, only after leaving did we check on the website for prices. Turns out what should have been a 29 dollar bill was 39. Two kids scoops, one single cup , three waffle cones two of which were single and one double. Not sure if young staff was just informed of prices , or not able to handle pressure of the pace of business and getting careless but in times like these, with many of us being unable to afford extra items like this , super frustrating to overpay if not necessary, We don't mind paying posted prices. Just from our experience watch your charges. On a positive note it was clean. Although all staff looked to be high school age they were kind. Just seemed to need some guidance especially on...
