We live locally and had never been to this quaint little BBQ spot before, so today we finally decided to check it out. For ease of reading, i'll break this into 3 sections:

Atmosphere: 5/5

Quintessential small town BBQ spot. Locally owned and operated by a very friendly husband and wife duo (new owners as of this year). Outside seating only with ample parking and that Holden Beach small town charm.

Food: 4/5

I've been a lot of places and have had some amazing BBQ. That said, they're getting a lot of things right: they've got a simple but focused menu with most of the staples you'd expect. The meats were all seasoned well and had great flavor. You'll definitely want to try the ribs (my personal favorite). The sides were also great, my favorite being their Tennessee style potato salad.

We ordered the "Old Man" for roughly $45 plus tax - a full sampling of their menu plus dessert that is advertised to feed 2 people. We split this between 4 people and still had leftovers! At around $12 per person, this was a great value, and my wallet was as happy as my stomach.

Absolutely some of the best BBQ I've ever had. We got the Pulled Pork meal and the Full Rack of Ribs meal. We got both orders with the sweet BBQ sauce which has notes of apple or peach and was delicious. The pulled pork was moist, tender, and delicious and barely needed any sauce. The ribs were nice and smoky, fatty, and were pull off the bone with the perfect bite/chew. They were sold out of baked beans, so we got coleslaw and potato salad for sides. Both sides were lacking a little bit in flavor, so we added both the sweet BBQ sauce and salt to both and then they were delicious. Prices were a little higher than usual because of COVID and meat shortages (ransomware attack) but I would gladly pay it again for this quality of an experience. Utensils were provided and we ate in the enclosed picnic area "Our Happy Place" to the right of the food truck. My family and I have been vacationing at Holden Beach for 20+ years, and I’ve been meaning to try this place but always forget. So finally, we stopped by and tried the BBQ today. I absolutely love BBQ and had to try it, and it did not disappoint. I got a pulled pork sandwich, and my wife got the special of the day: pulled pork/diced brisket sandwich. Both sandwiches were outstanding with generous portions! Food was absolutely — 🔥🔥🔥 We’re from Kentucky, and there are several good BBQ spots back home, and I would rank this towards the top of the list in terms of quality of BBQ.
