German Village Market — Attraction in Dover

I love stopping in there when I'm in town but this time service at the hot food was terrible. I wanted dark chicken but they had only a few pieces so the older lady said it would take 15 minutes to cook more. I said fine as I have more shopping to do . When I went to get my order I should have opened the box up. The chicken was hard the 4 pieces of dark that was in the case that I didn't want in the first place as I said I want 8 pieces fresh was reheated and the other 4 pieces were way overcooked. How do I know ? Well my professional trade of work is a sous chef. I know every trick in the book. Unfortunately we could not eat the chicken it went in the trash. I paid $12.99 for garbage. I went back but unfortunately they closed early that day so I'm out of money. Wishing I had checked before paying for terrible service and food. I spent total of $51.11 that day. Never again will I shop there...

It’s a nice enough small, local store but BEWARE for outdated or nearly outdated food products & they don’t give refund for outdated food. I bought a salad dressing yesterday, November 9 (I didn’t check the date, October 2023, my fault🙁) came home & opened the bottle to use it & smelled rancid, tasted it & 😟. Wanted to return it today November 10 & they said they can’t exchange or refund from “Bargain aisle”. I hadn’t realized I was shopping in the bargain aisle.🥴. And furthermore that “bargain” should not have been on the shelf anymore; $2.50 for a rancid, outdated salad dressing. Ok, so just sayin’ pay attention shoppers where the Bargain aisle is & definitely check the expiration dates! Thanks! Mrs. Wengerd

I wanted to like this market so bad. We drove 1.5 hours to come here. When we walked in, we were just stared at like we didn't belong. We felt extremely awkward and unwelcome in the market. No one had masks on and people looked at us like we were crazy for wearing them. It was a very, The Handmaid's Tale grocery store vibe.
