This is our fourth stay at the Graystone Cottages. We love these cottages for a number of reasons, but the biggest one is location, location, location. You are within walking distance of Berlin's charming downtown and the many enchanting shops and restaurants, and just a short drive to many of the other towns like Walnut Creek. We particularly enjoy Boyd and Wurthmann's for our dining and Sol's in Berlin for our shopping, but there are many different types of shopping and restaurants for any taste or preference. Also, if you like pretzels, visit the Pretzel Nook which is literally steps from the cottages. The cottages are tastefully decorated, cozy, and comfortable. There are televisions that are smart TVs so if you choose to stream with your phone or other device, you can do that. They do have cable so you can watch whatever you like. The cinnamon rolls are to DIE for! They will also stock other breakfast items like bagels, milk, OJ, Amish granola, coffee, creamer, etc. There is also usually an apple, popcorn, and hot chocolate as well. There are plates and eating utensils, a microwave, and refrigerator. There is a charming fireplace to take the chill off of the cool country mornings as well. We do hope that someone finds this review helpful and we will certainly be back...
Read moreWe have now stayed in 3 of the 4 available accommodations at Graystone. They have all been super clean and had plates, mugs and silverware provided. The corner hot tub bath was one of the things that caught our attention but we amazingly haven’t used one yet. A few breakfast options were provided. Cinnamon rolls, granola, milk, orange juice, bagels and cream cheese. We liked that the little fridge had a freezer section so we could freeze some water bottles to keep perishable purchases cold on our drive home. ||The only thing I wish I could change is for there to be a king size bed rather then a queen, but space really doesn’t permit that and we did know the size of the bed when we booked the cottages so this isn’t a complaint. ||It is incredible how the cottages are right behind the “main drag” in Berlin but we really heard no noise from all of the people investigating the town. Nighttimes were virtually silent outside.||We used to stay at a chalet at D——a’s of Berlin. Graystone is significantly less expensive and just as nice, if not nicer. We just need to learn to book for the following year earlier if we want...
Read moreThe cutest cottage right in the heart of Amish Country! We stayed for two nights in the middle of the week, just a little getaway to enjoy the fall color. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and I really liked how the breakfast items are already there in the morning so we could just leisurely start our day with coffee and amazing cinnamon rolls:-) It's walkable to many shops and restaurants, and a quick drive to the sights in the surrounding towns. One thing you should be aware of, and I don't think this is specific to Graystone Cottages, but the WiFi and cell reception in the whole area is a little slow and spotty. It wasn't a big problem but if you're planning to work remotely or stream on your phone or laptop it could be...
