Lifeguards are too uptight to let you enjoy yourself swimming. Not kid friendly because of this. I understand rules and making sure we are safe and I respect them, but these guys go beyond to make sure you are at a full on anxiety attack because they are so uptight. One told my five year old, wearing a life jacket, who was being supervised by my boyfriend that she couldn't swim without an adult 18 or older, could they not see him?... That was the second time my kids visited there because I thought that maybe I was having an off day with a roudy three year old the first time.
My first experience: I was too close to the floating rope boundary with my three year old, keeping my three year old from it and they checked me for it. We weren't allowed to throw the balls, got checked for that. When I asked the lifeguard if I could get back in the water five minutes after the hourly whistle, he said yes. Then told me to get back out... He must not have heard the question. Two of their many checks were legitimate. I didn't know I was not supposed to be on the little island thing and was checked for that. Got checked for being at the bottom of the water slide while my son was in the slide. After being checked several times for what it felt like we were just being there, and two legitimate reasons, we left. Nobody needs that kind of anxiety. One of them appoligized for acting like a Nazi, but the whole experience with all of the lifeguards was like that both times. I posted this review hoping for a positive change, but I won't be back to find out if...
Read moreA long standing worker at this location named Ryan was super unhelpful about turning a tv from sports to HGTV, even though there were only two other women working out in the cardio room at the time, watching a different television altogether. This is not the first time I've seen the four main tvs mounted in the cardio area dedicated to male-centric viewing either. I mean, do they cater only to men? Ryan said they usually don't change the tv channels...umm what? So who decided ESPN would air 24/7? Is it a male run location? Possibly. After my experience there I would say it's probable. A young teenager who also works at Eastridge finally walked up to us with a remote and said to Ryan "It's not really a big deal, I can just change the channel." My thoughts exactly. If you want helpful staff and management try the Northridge location. They're more flexible...
Read moreHighlands Ranch community center with pools, gym, recreational activities. My daughter's ballet class is here. My other daughter runs up the (5) climbing walls. Staff is excellent. Facilities top notch, well maintained. The recreational opportunities are one of the reasons that we moved to the community. This is what an HOA should be. Cost is minimal, and everything is geared toward service. Everyone is helpful and any intrusion is minimally necessary to protect the community and make everything work. All services are very responsive. Originally, we thought of Highlands Ranch as a short-term home until the kids were out of school and we fully retired. Now, we think we may...
